This document is an instruction manual for the "MAGIC" garden barbecue, manufactured by Victoria-05 Ltd. It covers installation, operation, and maintenance.
Function Description
The "MAGIC" garden barbecue is designed for outdoor use, providing a comfortable atmosphere for garden parties and cooking with live fire. It is intended for burning dry cleaved wood (wood logs) and charcoal. The appliance features a fire chamber with refractory plates to increase burning temperature and efficiency, a cast-iron bottom grate, and an ash pan for primary air control and ash collection.
Important Technical Specifications
- Fuel Type: Dry cleaved wood (wood logs) with 10-15% humidity (after 2 years of drying) and hard wood charcoal.
- Construction: The outer side is made from material resistant to outside weather conditions. The front part is painted with highly temperature-resistant paint.
- Mobility: Mounted on wheels for easy movement.
- Additional Features: Includes additional working rafts made from stainless steel for comfort.
- Safety Distance: The appliance and flue pipes should be at least 80 cm away from combustible objects or constructions.
Usage Features
Installation:
- The floor where the barbecue is placed must be flat, horizontal, and have the necessary weight capacity.
- If combustible materials or constructions are present, the barbecue must be kept at a specified distance or an additional incombustible screen must be used.
- The barbecue is designed for easy movement with wheels.
Operation:
- Fuel: Use dry cleaved wood (wood logs) and charcoal. Avoid liquid fuels and burning waste.
- Refractory Plates: These plates retain and radiate heat back into the firebox, increasing burning temperature and efficiency. They can be replaced if severely damaged (metal parts visible), but minor cracks do not necessitate replacement. Refractory plates are considered quickly worn out and are not covered by warranty.
- Bottom Grate: A cast-iron grate at the bottom of the firebox. It should be cleaned regularly to prevent blockage by mineral or wooden particles. The grate is also considered quickly worn out and is not covered by warranty.
- Paint: The front part is coated with high-temperature resistant paint. When first used, the paint needs to be heated for a few hours to bake and stabilize, during which time an odor may be produced. Do not touch the outer surface or place anything on the appliance during this period. Color changes (white-grey) or rust stains due to overheating or incorrect servicing are normal and can be remedied with appropriate spray paint.
- Control Devices: Before initial ignition, ensure all control devices are functional.
- Primary Air: Air passes through the ash pan, bottom grate, and into the fire chamber. It is crucial for faster ignition and better combustion. The quantity of primary air is controlled by slightly pulling the ash pan or using a valve on the ash pan door. If the chimney has a strong flue draught, it is recommended to close the ash pan or valve entirely. The ash pan should not be completely full to allow undisturbed primary air flow.
- Initial Ignition:
- Remove all supplementary tools from the ash pan.
- Ensure the primary air control regulator is open.
- Start slowly with a small quantity of sticks and paper.
- After these burn out, add two or three wood logs.
- Once the wood logs are burned out, charcoal can be added.
- Ash Disposal: Remove the ash pan for cleaning only when the barbecue is not in use and has cooled down.
Safety Regulations:
- The appliance is not intended for use by children or persons with limited physical, sensory, or mental abilities, or by individuals without sufficient experience and knowledge, unless supervised and instructed by a responsible person.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 80 cm between the appliance/flue pipes and combustible objects/constructions.
- Do not use easily flammable liquids for ignition.
- Do not store easily flammable or explosive substances in the heated room.
- Ash disposal and cleaning must only occur in safe places when the appliance has cooled down.
- Do not place combustible materials or objects on or immediately near the appliance.
- Keep children away from the appliance during operation due to hot surfaces (incineration danger).
- In case of fire: Close the combustion air regulator, call the fire brigade, do not attempt to extinguish with water, and remove all easily flammable materials from around the appliance.
- Do not make any unauthorized changes to the barbecue's construction.
Maintenance Features
- General Cleaning: Regular maintenance and cleaning ensure reliable work and good appearance.
- Stainless Steel Rafts: Clean with any household cleaning product. Avoid abrasive products to prevent scratching.
- Painted Surfaces and Stainless Steel Parts: Clean with a dry, soft brush or a dry, soft towel.
- Avoid: Do not use sharp objects or abrasive materials for cleaning.
- Ash Pan: Clean regularly to ensure proper primary air flow.
- Bottom Grate: Clean regularly to maintain functionality.
Possible Defects and Their Causes
- Appliance releases too much heat:
- Excessive air supply.
- Too much fuel or very calorific fuel.
- Damages on the bottom grate:
- Using non-recommended fuel types.
- Excessive primary air supply.
- Very high chimney flue draught pressure.
- Appliance does not work well:
- Primary air regulator is closed.
- Ashtray needs regular cleaning.
- Chimney blockage.
