8.Desinfection
BeforethefirstuseandonceaweekpHandcontentoffreefluorineshallbechecked. The
examinationshallbeconductedwiththeuseofattachedPOOLTESTER,inthefollowingway:
1. RemovethelidofPOOLTESTER,rinsetheboxeswithexaminedwater.
2. Filltheboxeswithexaminedwater.
3. PlacePENTOLREDtabletintheleftbox,placePDP tabletintherightbox.Makesureyoudo
nottouchthetabletswithyourfingers.
4. Closethelidandshakethewatersamplesothatthetablesdissolve.
5. InordertoreadPOOLTESTERresultskeepthetesteragainstthelight. Appropriatevaluescan
bereadbycomparingthecolorofsolutionwiththecolorscale.
6. ThevalueonthelefthandsidereferstopHvalue,whereasthevalueontherighthandside
referstothefreechlorine.
POOLTESTERforpHandfreechlorinetesting
The most important chemical parameter deciding on the influence of water on the skin is pH
reaction. It influences the activity of desinfection substances and calcium-carbonate balance.
It is recommended that pH value amounts to 7.0 7.4. To high pH value may result in:
Worseningofdesinfectionagents'efficiency,
Thenecessityofusingmorechlorine,
Eyesandskinirritation,
CaCO precipitating.
ToolowpHvaluemayresultin:
Corrosion,
Eyesandskinirritation.
The bath water offers good conditions for microorganisms to grow (bacteria, fungi, algae).
Only some bacteria and fungi are mycotic and may constitute danger for people taking a bath.
However in case of a quick grow they may lead to the appearance of slippery residues and
water cloudiness. In order to ensure appropriate hygiene of bathing it is necessary to conduct
efficient desinfection. The desinfection in case of the ROSE bath is conducted by hand dosing
of the agent increasing the level of the active chlorine. It is recommended that the content of
free chlorine amount to: 1.0-1.5 mg/l.
