Product care guide
The rst few weeks with your new bed
A new bed involves a bit of a readjustment for your body. The bed is
designed to relieve pressure and adapt to your body, which means
that the lling material adjusts as you use the bed. As it should do!
For the rst few weeks, the bed may feel warm to you. This may be
because your body is getting better pressure relief, stimulating blood
circulation. After a few weeks, the temperature should return to
normal. A new bed also means that muscles and ligaments have to
adapt as well. At times you may experience tiredness in your back,
or even a little discomfort, but only in the rst weeks.
Cleaning and airing
Vacuum your mattress regularly using an upholstery attachment.
This helps keep the bed clean and free of mites. Your top mattress
should also be cleaned and aired regularly. If the weather does not
permit hanging it outdoors, you can just let the bed remain unmade
for a while to improve ventilation. We recommend the Viking top
mattress for the best t and comfort.
Caring for your top mattress
Take good care of your top mattress – it goes a long way to ensuring
your comfort and extending the life of the bed. The mattress adapts
as you use it, which is why you should turn it regularly. This introduces
fresh air between the mattress layers, allowing the top mattress to
retain volume and last longer. Once every six months, the top mattress
should also be turned 180° from head to foot for more even distribution
of pressure. We recommend the Viking top mattress cover for the
best t and comfort.
Reversible spring mattress
The spring mattress of your adjustable bed is designed to be a re-
versible unit. By turning it 180° from head to foot, you obtain a more
even distribution of pressure, and the mattress retains its rmness.
For the same reason, the mattress should also be turned over.
These steps should be taken at regular intervals, preferably every
six months.
Stain removal
If necessary, the bed can be cleaned with a foaming fabric cleaner.
It is important to not use anything else. If you are unsure what to
choose, ask your retailer.
Tightening
Tighten the corner ttings and screws to the bed’s legs and skid legs
after a few weeks and check them annually. If the bed starts to creak,
it may be because the legs are not sufciently tightened. An adjustable
bed can also be affected by humidity and temperature.
Lubricating
Your adjustable bed has a number of movable parts that should be
regularly oiled in order to keep them silent. Use an oil with adhesive
properties (not one that is silicone-based). If you are unsure which
to choose, ask your retailer.
Batteries
The motor in your adjustable bed is equipped with a 9V 6LR61 battery
(for emergency lowering), which is available in convenience stores.
