- Warning: Danger of electric
shock! Particularly
important for
electrical safety are
the power supply cord, mains
plug, on/off switch and
connection cord.
Damaged cords, connectors
and plugs, or connection
cords that do not conform to
regulations must not be
used, to prevent any risk of
electric shocks. Therefore,
check the connection cord
regularly for signs of damage
or ageing (brittleness).
- For reasons of safety, the
catcher bag (special
accessory – not included in
standard equipment) may
only be used in an
undamaged condition.
- The switch mechanisms
installed in the appliance
must not be removed or
bypassed, e.g. by tying the
motorstop lever to the
handlebar.
- Only give (or lend) the
appliance to persons who are
familiar with this model and
how to operate it. Always
provide them with the
instruction manual.
- Please observe the local
regulations regarding
permitted operation times for
powered gardening tools.
04.04 Scarifying procedure
- Keep other persons
away from the
danger area.
- Only work during the day or
with good artificial light.
- If possible, avoid using the
appliance when the ground is
wet, otherwise, exercise
particular caution to prevent
yourself from slipping. The
risk of accidents is higher if
the ground is wet (increased
danger of slipping for
operator).
- Always ensure good stability
on slopes. Avoid scarifying
on excessively steep slopes
in order to prevent loss of
control of the appliance.
- Never attach any objects to
the handlebar (e.g. work
clothing). Extension cables
must never be wrapped
around the handlebar.
- Only mow at walking speed.
Working quickly with the
appliance increases the risk
of injury due to stumbling,
slipping etc.
- Bring the appliance into the
transport position before
turning it around.
- Please note that in the
lowered position the lawn
scarifier blades catch on the
ground when running over
bumps. If the blades are set
too low, the lawn scarifier
could accelerate
unexpectedly, possibly
resulting in loss of control of
the machine.
- Always work at right-angles
to the slope and never up or
down the slope, in order to
avoid being run over by the
running lawn scarifier in the
case of loss of control of the
appliance or of falling.
- Be particularly careful when
changing direction on a
slope.
- For safety reasons, the
appliance must not be used
on slopes with an incline of
more than 25° (46.6 %).
Risk of injury!
A slope inclination of 25°
corresponds to a vertical
height increase of 46.6 cm
for a 100 cm horizontal
distance.

- Always wear safety glasses
when using the
lawnscarifier.
- Always wear robust shoes
and long trousers
when working.
Never work
barefoot or in sandals.
- Carefully inspect the
complete area on which the
appliance is to be used and
remove any stones, sticks,
wires, bones and other
foreign objects which could
be thrown up by the
scarifying unit.
- Before using the appliance,
always perform a visual
check to ensure that the
scarifying unit (blades, blade
shaft, spacer bushings and
fastening elements) are not
worn or damaged. Replace
worn or damaged parts.
- Never use the lawn scarifier
if the safety devices (e.g.
motorstop lever, start button,
ejection flap, housing) are
missing, damaged or worn.
