Function Description:
The Vissani Air Conditioner is designed to cool and circulate air within a room. It operates by drawing in indoor air, cooling it, and then releasing the conditioned air back into the space. The unit also features a fan-only mode for air circulation and filtering without cooling. It is intended for use in standard double-hung windows with specific opening width and height requirements. The appliance is not intended for use as a precision refrigeration system for specialized purposes like maintaining pets, food, precision machinery, or art objects.
Usage Features:
The air conditioner is controlled via a control panel, which includes a Power button, a Fan Speed selector, and a Mode/Temp Control Knob.
- Power: Turns the air conditioner On or Off.
- Fan Speed: Allows users to set the fan speed to either Low or Hi.
- Mode/Temp Control Knob: This knob is used to select between "Fan" and "Cool" modes and to adjust the temperature in "Cool" mode.
- Fan Mode: In this mode, the unit provides air circulation and filtering without cooling. Users can select either Hi or Low Fan Speed.
- Cool Mode: This mode provides cooling. Users can select either Hi or Low Fan Speed for cooling. Turning the knob towards the "Max" area makes the indoor air cooler, while turning it towards the "Cool" area makes it warmer. The Mode/Temp control maintains the room temperature by cycling the compressor on and off to keep the room at the desired comfort level. If switching from "Cool" to "Fan" mode, it is recommended to wait at least 3 minutes before switching back to "Cool" to prevent compressor overload.
- Air Direction: Airflow can be adjusted by changing the direction of the air conditioner's louvers. Horizontal airflow is adjusted by moving the levers of the vertical louvers to the left or right.
The unit is designed for secure and firm installation to prevent vibration and noise. It should be installed out of direct sunlight and with no obstacles within 20 inches from the back of the cabinet to ensure proper heat radiation and cooling efficiency. The unit should be slightly tilted so the back is lower than the front (about 1/4 inch) to allow condensed water to flow outside. - Air Filter Cleaning: The air filter should be checked at least twice a month. If cleaning is necessary, it should be removed from the front grille by pulling it forward and then up slightly. The filter should be washed using lukewarm water (below 40°C/104°F), gently shaken to remove excess water, and then replaced. Trapped particles in the filter can block airflow, reduce cooling capacity, and cause frost accumulation on the evaporator.

- The front grille and inlet grille can be wiped with a cloth dampened in a mild detergent solution.
- The cabinet should be washed with mild soap or detergent and lukewarm water, then polished using liquid appliance wax.
- Strong cleaning agents, solvents, waxes, thinners, or harsh detergents should not be used on the product.
- Condenser Coil Check: To ensure continued peak efficiency, the condenser coils (outside of the unit) should be checked periodically and cleaned if clogged with soot or dirt from outside air.
- Service and Repair: For repairs and maintenance, users are advised to contact an Authorized Service Center. The manual provides a customer service number (1-855-VISSANI) for assistance. It also notes that the model and serial numbers, found on the side of the cabinet, should be available for future reference.
The manual emphasizes several safety precautions, including:
- Electrical Safety: Always plug into a grounded outlet. Do not cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Do not modify or extend the power cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by qualified persons. The power cord may include a current interrupter device with TEST and RESET buttons, which should be tested periodically.
