This document describes the VolantexRC Vector XS and Vector 30 remote control boats, providing a user manual with safety precautions, operational instructions, and maintenance guidelines.

Function Description

The Vector XS and Vector 30 are high-performance remote control racing boats designed for hobbyists. They are controlled via a radio transmitter, allowing users to maneuver the boat in water. The boats are equipped with an Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) and a motor, powered by a lithium battery. Key functions include forward movement, steering (left/right), and throttle control. The ESC features an auto-sensing voltage cutoff to protect the battery from over-discharge. The transmitter includes controls for steering trim, dual rate function, throttle reverse, and steering reverse, enabling precise adjustments for optimal performance.

Usage Features

Assembly and Setup:
- The boat comes pre-assembled.
- Install the lithium battery by securing it with hook tape inside the hull.
- Ensure the transmitter is powered on before connecting the battery to the ESC.
- Turn the transmitter throttle and rudder trim to the middle position.
- Connect a fully charged battery to the ESC.
- Test rudder movement and propeller rotation (counterclockwise) before launching.
- The boat must be bound to the transmitter for control. The binding process involves powering on the receiver, waiting for 5 seconds, and observing the receiver LED flash for 5-8 seconds, indicating successful binding.
Operation:
- Always operate in open spaces away from full-size vehicles, traffic, and people.
- Avoid watercraft, stationary objects, waves, wildlife, floating debris, and overhanging trees.
- Start driving slowly near the shoreline to get accustomed to controls.
- Adjust steering trim on the transmitter for straight running.
- Decrease throttle when making turns to reduce the risk of flipping.
- The boat will slow down when the battery is low, indicating it's time to recharge.
- Transmitter Controls:
  - Steering Trim: Adjusts the steering wheel's center position for straight travel.
  - Dual Rate Function: Adjusts the servo angle for steering, allowing for larger or smaller turning radii.
  - Throttle Reverse: Reverses the throttle channel if needed.
  - Steering Reverse: Reverses the steering direction if needed.
  - Throttle Trigger: Controls the boat's speed; pulling it further increases speed.
Safety Precautions:
- Always keep body parts, hair, and loose items away from the spinning propeller.
- Never turn off the transmitter before disconnecting the boat's battery to prevent loss of control.
- Do not operate with low transmitter batteries.
- Avoid operating in extreme temperatures or turbulent water without supervision.
- Never operate a boat with damaged wiring.
- This product is not a toy and is not intended for children under 14 without adult supervision.
- Always ensure failsafe is properly set before running.
Charging:
- Use only the included USB charger or a compatible lithium battery charger.
- Plug the charger into a USB port, then connect the battery.
- The red LED indicator will be solid during charging and turn off when fully charged.
- Monitor battery temperature during charging.
- Never charge damaged batteries or leave charging batteries unattended.
- Store batteries at room temperature in a dry area, away from direct sunlight or hot environments.

Maintenance Features

Post-Operation:
- Power off the ESC, disconnect the battery, and power off the transmitter.
- Remove batteries from both the boat and transmitter.
- Fully dry the inside and outside of the boat, including water cooling lines and jackets.
- Remove the hatch and radio box cover before storing to prevent mold and mildew.
- Allow the motor, ESC, and battery packs to cool before recharging or operating again.
Shaft Lubrication:
- Lubricating the shaft is crucial for drivetrain life and acts as a water seal.
- Lubricate the shaft, propeller shaft, and all moving parts every 2-3 hours of operation with marine grease.
- To lubricate, loosen water cooling tubes from the motor, remove the motor, loosen the propeller, and slide out the drive shaft. Wipe clean, lubricate, and reinstall, ensuring a 1-2mm gap between the prop strut and drive dog.
Part Replacement:
- Always replace parts that show visible wear or damage, especially the shaft.
- Inspect the battery before charging and replace if damaged or ballooning.
Saltwater Operation:
- Running the boat in saltwater can cause corrosion. If operated in saltwater, rinse thoroughly with fresh water after each use and lubricate the drive system.
- Note that running RC boats in saltwater is at the user's discretion due to its corrosive effects.
Troubleshooting Guide:
- Provides solutions for common issues such as reduced runtime, boat not binding, boat diving or taking on water, boat turning in one direction, rudder not moving, controls reversed, and motor/ESC overheating. Solutions include checking battery charge, adjusting trim, replacing damaged parts, lubricating shafts, and ensuring proper connections.
