The VonHaus 2000W Oscillating Ceramic Fan Tower Heater (model 2514041) is a heating appliance designed for light domestic use, suitable for well-insulated spaces or occasional use. It is not intended for heavy-duty, commercial, industrial, or outdoor use, and should not be used to dry clothes.
This ceramic fan tower heater provides warmth through a heating element and a fan, distributing hot air into the room. It features an oscillating function to ensure wider heat distribution across a space. The heater is equipped with a thermal cut-out switch that automatically powers off the appliance in case of overheating, and a thermostatic safety device that activates and cuts out power once a certain temperature is reached, restarting when the temperature lowers. A tip-over switch is also integrated, which will cut off power if the heater is accidentally knocked over, requiring disconnection from the mains and cooling before attempting to move or restart.
The heater can be operated via a control panel on the unit or a remote control. The remote control offers several functions: ON/OFF to power the unit on/off (between standby and on, provided the main rocker switch is on), MODE to change power settings (Fan-only, Low power 1000W, High power 2000W), TIMER to set an automatic switch-off period of up to 8 hours in 1-hour increments, OSCILLATING to activate or deactivate the oscillation, CANCEL to reset current settings to a pre-set temperature of 25°C, UP to increase temperature in 1° increments, and DOWN to decrease temperature in 1° increments. The LED display shows the chosen temperature before reverting to the room temperature. The heater cycles on and off to maintain the set temperature, which is a normal operational feature.
Before initial use, the heater needs to be assembled by attaching the base. This involves removing the large nut, placing the plastic silver ring face-down over the thread, positioning the base, and then securing all parts with the large nut. It is crucial to ensure the appliance is fully assembled and adjusted before connecting to mains voltage. The power cord should be unrolled completely before operation to prevent overheating and fire risk.
The heater must always be operated upright on a hard, level surface. It heats up during use, so users should avoid touching the front, grilles, or vents to prevent burns. It is critical not to cover or restrict airflow to the inlet or outlet grilles, as this can lead to overheating and fire risk. Airflow grilles should be kept clear of dust and hair, especially in homes with indoor pets. Objects should be kept at least 1 meter away from the front, sides, and rear of the appliance. Foreign objects or metal utensils should never be inserted into ventilation or exhaust openings to prevent electric shock, fire, or damage. The appliance should not be operated with wet hands.
For positioning, the heater should not be located in areas of high foot traffic, and the power cord and appliance should always be in full view to avoid accidents. If placed in an alcove, at least 150mm of space on all sides is required for good air circulation. It should not be fitted in confined spaces like cupboards or wardrobes. Hearth rugs and other soft furnishings should be kept away from the front to prevent obstruction of hot air flow and potential damage. The heater should not be operated in areas where gasoline, paint, or other flammable liquids are used or stored. It is not suitable for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, or similar moist indoor locations, nor in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower, or swimming pool. The appliance must not be located immediately below or in front of a socket outlet, and the socket must always be accessible for maintenance.
The heater should not be supplied through an external switching device like a timer or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off, to avoid inadvertent resetting of the thermal cut-out. The use of an extension cord is not recommended. The cord should not come into contact with the appliance surface during operation, run under carpeting or mats, or be twisted, kinked, or wrapped around the appliance, as this can weaken insulation. Always unplug the appliance when not in use and do not leave it unattended.
Before cleaning, the heater must be turned off, the ON/OFF Rocker Switch switched off, and the appliance disconnected from the power socket. It should be allowed to cool completely. Air vents and grilles can be vacuum-cleaned to remove dust. External surfaces can be wiped with a damp (not wet), lint-free cloth rinsed in hot soapy water. Harsh detergents, abrasive cleaners, or sprays should not be used, and the heater should never be submerged in liquid or water.
The interior of the heater should not be cleaned, and the casing should not be opened, as there are no user-serviceable parts inside. The filter (6) should be cleaned regularly. To access the filter, locate the three small screws on the rear of the heater, remove the filter cover and filter, and rinse the filter with clean water. It must be left to dry completely before being replaced. Ensuring the filter is completely dry before returning it to the heater is crucial, as failure to do so could damage the product and invalidate the warranty.
For storage, the heater should be kept in a dust-free area during the off-season, ideally in its original box. The power cord should be neatly wound to prevent damage. In case of difficulty using the product or if support is needed, customers can contact DOMU Brands Customer Services.
