TRIMMING WITH ATTACHMENT COMBS
Your trimmer includes three trimming attachments; stubble, medium and
long. The stubble guide has 1 bar, the medium-cut attachment has two
bars and the long-cut attachment has three bars.
These attachments are ideal for blending, tapering and
defining beards, as well as for achieving a “close trim”
stubble look around the face. To use the attachments,
go with the hair direction. To achieve closer looks, go
against the hair direction.
TRIMMING NOSE HAIR
Make sure the nasal passages are clean. Slowly move Rotary Head in
and out of each nostril, no more than 1/4-inch deep. Keep the side of the
cutting head firmly against the skin to prevent a tickling sensation. (The
Detail Head may also be used.)
TRIMMING EAR HAIR
Make sure the outer areas of the ears do not contain any wax. Hold the ear
flat with one hand and carefully insert Rotary Head no more than 1/4-inch
into the outer ear.
CAUTION: Do not insert the Rotary Head or any other foreign object
into the inner ear. For hair growing on the outside of the ear, simply move
the Rotary Head slowly along the edges of the ear. (The Detail Head may
also be used.)
TRIMMING EYEBROWS
Slowly move detailer to neatly trim stray hairs. For precise, even trimming,
slowly move the detailer closer or farther away from eyebrows to achieve
desired length.
INSTALLATION/ REMOVAL OF TRIMMING HEADS
Make sure trimmer unit is turned “OFF”.
1 Turn trimmer head counterclockwise and
lift off.
2 Place trimmer head on trimmer and turn
trimmer head clockwise to lock on.
TRIMMING AND EDGING
YOUR BEARD
The following are suggested trimming steps and trimmer positions. You
may find different procedures work better for you.
1. Comb your beard in the direction that it grows to help reveal stray hairs
that may be longer than the others.
2. Attach the guide comb to trim and taper your
beard. With the blades pointing toward you, begin
with the 5-position guide set at a long trimming
length. For best results, start at each sideburn and
stroke downward toward your neck. Trim toward
your chin in smooth, overlapping strokes, following the lay of your beard. If
you trim against the way your beard naturally lays, the trimmer will cut the
hair much shorter and the result may be patchy. Adjust the guide comb to
progressively shorter settings until you reach the desired length of beard.
You may wish to set the guide comb to cut closer near the ear and down
under the chin, changing to a longer setting toward the front of the face and
point of your chin. Always be sure the guide is snapped solidly into the
desired position before you start to trim.
3. Remove the 5-position guide and cut the outline of your beard. Starting
under your chin and working back toward your jawbone and ears, cut the
outer perimeter of your beard underneath the jawbone. Continue the line all
the way up to the ears and hairline.
4. Accentuate your beard line by using the trimmer in a downward motion.
Start at the line you’ve created and, working from the chin back toward the
ears, trim the area right under your beard line.
5. Define the upper part of your beard using the same technique.
6. For a neater finished look, use the guide comb on position 2. Then,
using the trimmer in an upward motion, start trimming under the chin with
short, outward, rolling strokes. Continue trimming until entire jawline is
blended.
TRIMMING YOUR MUSTACHE
1. Comb your mustache.
2. Hold the trimmer in a vertical position with the blades pointing toward
you in order to define the line of your mustache.
3. With the guide set at a fairly long trimming length, begin trimming your
mustache, starting at the top and working down to your upper lip. Use
progressively closer settings to get the look and length you desire.
4. For tapering the mustache, set the guide comb at a medium length.
Starting in the middle of your mustache, follow the lip line and taper with
short upward strokes of the trimmer, working out toward the corners until a
gentle shape is created on the bottom of your mustache.
5. As a finishing step, remove the guide and, using only the bare blades,
make a definitive line at the bottom of your mustache.
DETAILING SIDEBURNS, MUSTACHES & BEARDS
using trimmer head.
Slowly move trimmer across desired areas to neatly trim and shape.
TRIMMING ARM & LEG HAIR using trimmer head.
Simply glide the trimmer over your arm or leg until desired hair length is
achieved. The first time you trim the hair, start by using a longer setting on
the guide comb on the trimmer, then use progressively shorter settings if a
shorter length is preferred.
TRIMMING CHEST & STOMACH HAIR with trimmer
head.
Glide the trimmer over your torso region, in an upward motion until desired
hair length is achieved. The first time you trim the hair, start by using a
longer setting on the 5-position guide comb on the trimmer, then use
progressively shorter settings if a shorter length is preferred.
For the cleanest look, simply attach the shaver
head. The shaver makes for the perfect tool to clean up,
in, and around your beard, mustache, or other facial hair.
Shave against hair growth while stretching the skin. After
every use, remove the shaver foil by pressing the button
on the shaver head and carefully using cleaning brush
provided.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
For Household Use Only
RECHARGING
1. This trimmer is conveniently designed for household use. It
should be allowed to charge overnight before first use.
2. Remove the trimmer, recharging transformer and accessories
from the packing material.
3. Connect the transformer to the trimmer. BE SURE TRIMMER IS
IN THE “OFF - 0” POSITION WHEN CHARGING.
4. Plug the recharging transformer into any convenient electrical
outlet at the correct voltage.
5. When trimmer is low in power, it should be connected to the
transformer and plugged into an outlet to assure maximum
power is available when it is next used. This transformer
is designed to continuously charge the battery without
overcharging.
6. Ni-Cad battery life may be extended with the following
procedure: Once every month, let the trimmer run until the
motor stops. Move the switch to the “OFF - 0” position and
recharge fully overnight.
2. This power unit is intended to be correctly
orientated in a vertical or floor mount position.
3. This appliance can be used by children aged
from 14 years and above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction, by a person
responsible for their safety, concerning the use of
the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the
appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall
not be made by children without supervision.
4. Use this appliance only for its intended use as
described in this manual. Do not use attachments

it has been dropped into water.
6. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
7. Insert only recharging transformer plug
supplied by the manufacturer into charger
receptacle.
8. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol
(spray) products are being used or where oxygen
is being administered.
9. Never drop or insert any object into any
opening.
CLEANING/STORAGE
Before storing your trimmer, use the cleaning brush to whisk any loose
hairs from the unit and the blades. Store unit in such a manner so that
blades are protected from damage.
When the trimmer is not in use, the trimmer guide/blade guard
attachment should be in place to protect the blades.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If your Trimmer does not seem to take a charge, check the following
before returning it for repair:
1. Check outlet current by plugging in another appliance.
2. Make sure the outlet simply is not connected to a light switch which
turns the power at the outlet off when lights are turned off.
3. Be sure the trimmer is properly connected to the recharging
transformer, all connections are secure and the switch on the
trimmer is turned “OFF - 0.”
4. If your electricity is connected to a master power switch, we
suggest the trimmer be disconnected from the charger anytime the
master switch is off. Leaving the unit plugged into a dead outlet or
an unplugged charger will drain the battery.
5. If trimmer does not run and it is completely charged, turn the unit
“ON - I” and pinch or push the blades manually. (Oil may have dried
out between the blades, so they may be temporarily stuck together.)
CARING FOR YOUR TRIMMER
OILING BLADES
For best results, put one or two drops of Wahl Clipper Oil on the blades
only when necessary, or approximately once a month. Motor bearings
are permanently lubricated—do not attempt to oil.
When oiling your trimmer, turn the trimmer “ON - I,” hold the unit with
the blades facing DOWN and squeeze one or two drops of oil onto the
blades. Wipe off excess oil with soft cloth.
NOTICE—DO NOT OVER OIL!
Excessive oiling or application of liquids will cause damage if allowed to
seep back into motor.
BLADE CARE
Trimmer blades have precision-hardened, ground and lapped cutting
teeth. Blades should be handled carefully and never bumped or used to
cut dirty or abrasive material.
Should blades become damaged or dull, you may purchase a new blade
assembly from Wahl.
RECYCLE/REPLACEMENT
OF NI-CAD BATTERY
Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard
(carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (Ni-Cad, Ni-MH, etc.) batteries.
Under normal use, the rechargeable nickel-cadmium batteries in your
trimmer may last up to five years. At the end of their life, when they
will no longer take a full charge, the nickel-cadmium batteries must
be removed and recycled or disposed of properly. Do not attempt to
replace the batteries. All servicing or battery replacement should be
performed by an Authorized WAHL Service Location. To remove the
batteries for recycling or disposal, follow these steps:
1. Unplug transformer from outlet, disconnect cord
from trimmer and allow the batteries to
completely run down before
disassembly.
2. Remove
any attached
trimming
heads.
3. Pry the trimmer
housing apart.
CONTAINS SEALED, RECHARGEABLE NICKEL-
CADMIUM BATTERY. MUST BE RECYCLED OR
DISPOSED OF PROPERLY.

industry program to collect and recycle these batteries at the end of their useful
life, when taken out of service in the United States or Canada. The RBRC

the trash or the municipal waste stream, which is illegal in some areas. Please

Overview

The Wahl All-In-One Trimmer is a versatile grooming tool designed for household use, offering a range of features for various trimming and detailing needs. This appliance is engineered to provide precise and consistent results, making it suitable for maintaining beards, mustaches, sideburns, necklines, and even body hair. Its multi-head design allows for specialized grooming tasks, ensuring a comprehensive personal care experience.

Function Description:

The primary function of the Wahl All-In-One Trimmer is to cut and shape hair on the face and body. It operates as a cordless, rechargeable device, providing flexibility and convenience during use. The trimmer is equipped with a powerful motor and precision-hardened blades, designed to deliver clean and efficient cuts. Its "all-in-one" designation refers to its ability to perform multiple grooming functions through interchangeable heads and guide combs, catering to different hair lengths and styles.

Usage Features:

The trimmer comes with several interchangeable heads, each designed for a specific grooming task:

  • Trimming Head: This is the primary head for general hair trimming and shaping, ideal for beards, mustaches, and sideburns. It works in conjunction with various guide combs to achieve different hair lengths.
  • Shaving Head: For a clean, close finish, this head is used to shave around the beard, mustache, or other facial hair, providing a smooth result.
  • Detail Head: This smaller head is perfect for intricate detailing, such as touching up around ears, nose, and eyebrows, or creating sharp lines for goatees and necklines.
  • Ear/Nose Head: Specifically designed for safely trimming unwanted hair in the ears and nose, this rotary head ensures comfortable and effective removal without pulling or discomfort.

In addition to the interchangeable heads, the trimmer includes several guide combs to control hair length:

  • Fixed Guide Combs (1/16", 1/8", 3/16"): These combs provide specific, short trimming lengths, useful for achieving a stubble look or maintaining very short facial hair.
  • 5-Position Guide Comb: This adjustable comb offers a range of longer trimming lengths, allowing users to progressively shorten hair for blending, tapering, and achieving desired beard or mustache lengths.
  • Mustache Comb: A separate comb is provided to help style and prepare mustaches for trimming.

The trimmer's operation is straightforward, with an On/Off switch for easy control. For optimal performance, it is recommended to charge the trimmer overnight before its first use. When the power is low, connecting it to the recharging transformer and plugging it into an electrical outlet ensures maximum power availability for subsequent uses. The transformer is designed for continuous charging without overcharging the battery.

Specific usage instructions are provided for various grooming tasks:

  • Trimming and Edging Your Beard: Users are guided to comb their beard, attach a guide comb (starting with a longer setting), and stroke downward from sideburns to the neck, following the lay of the beard. The guide comb can be adjusted for progressively shorter settings. For outlining, the guide comb is removed, and the bare blades are used to define the beard's perimeter.
  • Trimming Your Mustache: The process involves combing the mustache, holding the trimmer vertically to define the line, and using a guide comb to trim from the top down to the upper lip. Tapering can be achieved with a medium-length guide comb and short upward strokes.
  • Detailing Sideburns, Mustaches & Beards: The trimmer head is moved slowly across desired areas to neatly trim and shape.
  • Trimming Arm & Leg Hair: The trimmer head is glided over the arm or leg, starting with a longer guide comb setting and progressively shortening it if desired.
  • Trimming Chest & Stomach Hair: Similar to arm and leg hair, the trimmer is moved in an upward motion, starting with a longer guide comb setting.
  • For the Cleanest Look (Shaver Head): The shaver head is attached, and the device is used against hair growth while stretching the skin for a close shave.
  • Trimming Nose Hair: The Rotary Head is slowly moved in and out of each nostril, no more than 1/4-inch deep, keeping the side of the cutting head against the skin.
  • Trimming Ear Hair: The Rotary Head is carefully inserted no more than 1/4-inch into the outer ear, or moved along the edges of the ear for hair on the outside.
  • Trimming Eyebrows: The detailer is slowly moved to trim stray hairs, adjusting its proximity to the eyebrows for desired length.
  • Trimming with Attachment Combs (Stubble, Medium, Long): These combs are used for blending, tapering, and defining beards, either with or against the hair direction for different closeness levels.

Maintenance Features:

Proper maintenance is crucial for extending the life and performance of the Wahl All-In-One Trimmer.

  • Oiling Blades: For best results, one or two drops of Wahl Clipper Oil should be applied to the blades approximately once a month, or as necessary. The trimmer should be turned "ON" with blades facing down during oiling, and excess oil wiped off with a soft cloth. It is explicitly stated not to over-oil, as excessive liquid can damage the motor.
  • Blade Care: The precision-hardened blades require careful handling. They should not be bumped or used to cut dirty or abrasive material. If blades become damaged or dull, new blade assemblies can be purchased.
  • Cleaning/Storage: Before storing, a cleaning brush (provided) should be used to remove loose hairs from the unit and blades. The trimmer should be stored in a manner that protects the blades from damage, ideally with the trimmer guide/blade guard attachment in place when not in use.
  • Battery Maintenance: The Ni-Cad battery life can be extended by fully discharging the trimmer once a month until the motor stops, then recharging it fully overnight.
  • Battery Replacement/Recycling: The trimmer contains a sealed, rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery. At the end of its life (typically up to five years), when it no longer holds a full charge, the battery must be removed and recycled or disposed of properly. Users are advised not to attempt to replace the batteries themselves; all servicing or battery replacement should be performed by an Authorized WAHL Service Location. Instructions are provided for removing the batteries for recycling, which involves unplugging the transformer, disconnecting the cord, allowing batteries to run down, removing trimming heads, and prying the housing apart. The RBRC Battery Recycling Seal indicates Wahl's participation in a program to collect and recycle these batteries.

Safety Precautions:

The manual emphasizes several important safeguards:

  • Electrical Safety: Do not reach for an appliance that has fallen into water. Do not use while bathing or showering. Do not place or store the appliance where it can fall into a tub or sink, or drop into water or other liquid. Always unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after use, except when charging. Unplug before cleaning and unplug the charger before using the trimmer.
  • General Safety: Do not crush, disassemble, heat above 100°C (212°F), or incinerate the appliance due to the risk of fire, explosion, or burns. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Use only the recharging transformer supplied by the manufacturer. Do not use outdoors or where aerosol (spray) products or oxygen are being administered. Never drop or insert any object into any opening. Do not use with a damaged or broken blade or trimming attachment, as facial injury may occur. Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then to the outlet.
  • Children and Supervision: The appliance can be used by children aged 14 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, if they have been given supervision and instruction by a responsible person concerning safe use and understanding of hazards. Children should not play with the appliance, and cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
  • Intended Use: Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in the manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Damage: Never operate if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water.
  • Animal/Weather Exposure: During use, do not place or leave the appliance where it could be damaged by an animal or exposed to weather.

The Wahl All-In-One Trimmer is designed to be a reliable and versatile grooming tool, provided that users adhere to the outlined operational and maintenance guidelines.
