the procedure outlined above.
However, unlike traditional
ophthalmoscopy, a unique
feature of PanOptic is that the
examiner does not have to
switch to his/her left eye. The
practitioner can use either eye
to examine either patient eye
because of the greater working
distance between patient and
practitioner. This permits those
who are strongly dominant in
one eye to always use that eye
in the fundus exam.
