Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, safe use, and maintenance of a Whirlpool AWH 912/PRO UK washing machine. It emphasizes safety precautions, proper handling, and environmental considerations throughout the appliance's lifecycle.

Function Description

The Whirlpool AWH 912/PRO UK is a domestic washing machine designed for cleaning fabrics using water and detergents. It is intended for use in household and similar applications, including staff kitchen areas in shops, offices, and other working environments; farmhouses; by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast, and other residential environments; and communal areas in blocks of flats or launderettes. The machine is designed to handle a maximum capacity of dry cloth as indicated in its program table. It is not suitable for professional use or outdoor operation. The appliance operates with an A-weighted sound pressure level below 70dB.

Usage Features

Before using the appliance, it is crucial to read and understand all safety instructions. The washing machine is equipped with transport bolts to prevent internal damage during transit, which must be removed before operation. After removal, the openings should be covered with the four enclosed plastic caps. The appliance should be handled and installed by two or more persons to prevent injury, and protective gloves should be worn to avoid cuts during unpacking and installation.

The machine requires a stable and level placement. If installed on wood or "floating" floors (such as parquet or laminate), a 60 x 60 x 3 cm (at least) sheet of plywood should be secured to the floor underneath the appliance. The four feet of the appliance must be stable and adjusted as required to ensure it is perfectly level using a spirit level.

Water inlet hose(s) must be connected to the water supply in accordance with local water company regulations. For cold-fill-only models, connection to the hot water supply is not permitted. For models with hot fill, the hot water inlet temperature must not exceed 60 °C. The supply water pressure must be within the 0.1-1 MPa range. Only new hoses should be used for connection to the water supply; old hose-sets should not be reused.

Electrical connections must be performed by a qualified technician. The appliance must be earthed in conformity with national electrical safety standards. It must be possible to disconnect the appliance from the power supply by unplugging it or via a multi-pole switch installed upstream of the socket, in accordance with wiring rules. Extension leads, multiple sockets, or adapters should not be used. The electrical components must not be accessible to the user after installation. The appliance should not be operated if wet or barefoot, or if it has a damaged power cable or plug, is not working properly, or has been damaged or dropped. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.

The appliance should not be loaded beyond its maximum capacity. Solvents (e.g., turpentine, benzene), detergents containing solvents, scouring powder, glass or general-purpose cleaners, or flammable fluids should not be used. Fabrics treated with solvents or flammable liquids should not be machine washed. Only detergents specified by the manufacturer as suitable for domestic washing machines should be used.

The appliance is not intended to be operated by an external switching device, such as a timer, or a separate remote-controlled system. It should not be installed in areas exposed to extreme conditions such as poor ventilation, temperatures below 5 °C or above 35 °C. After installation, allow a few hours for the appliance to acclimate to the environmental conditions of the room. Ensure that ventilation openings in the base of the washing machine (if available) are not obstructed by a carpet or other material.

Maintenance Features

Before performing any maintenance operation, ensure that the appliance is switched off and disconnected from the power supply. The removal of the plug from the socket must be verifiable from any point of access. Instructions for the type and frequency of inspections and maintenance required for safe operation, including preventive measures, are provided in the Use and Care Guide. For service, contact the authorized service.

Steam-cleaning equipment should never be used due to the risk of electric shock. In case of accident, breakdown, or a likely blockage, contact the authorized service. Only authorized spare parts should be used. Self or non-professional repair can lead to dangerous incidents, including live or health-threatening situations, and/or significant property damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons to avoid hazards.

The packaging materials are 100% recyclable and should be disposed of responsibly and in full compliance with local authority regulations. After unpacking, store packaging waste (plastic, styrofoam parts, etc.) out of reach of children to prevent suffocation.

The appliance is manufactured with recyclable or reusable materials. It should be disposed of in accordance with local waste disposal regulations. For information on the treatment, recovery, and recycling of household electrical appliances, contact your local authority, the collection service for household waste, or the store where the appliance was purchased. The appliance is marked in compliance with European Directive 2012/19/EU (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment - WEEE). By ensuring proper disposal, negative consequences for the environment and human health can be prevented. The symbol on the product or accompanying documentation indicates that it should not be treated as domestic waste but must be taken to an appropriate collection center for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
