Introduction
Thank you for buying this product. To minimize the risk of injury by means of fire or electric
shock we urge that our clients take some basic safety precautions when using this article.
Please read this instruction manual carefully and make sure that you have understood its con-
tent.
Always use a grounded power connection with the right mains voltage. The corresponding mains volt-
age you can find on the nameplate. If you have doubts about the connection being grounded, have it
checked by a qualified professional. Never use a faulty electric cable.
Do not operate the booster in a wet or damp environment or when you are wet yourself and pro-
tect it from direct sunlight. Install the device in a safe location so that nobody can step on the cable,
fall over or damage it. Additionally make sure you provide sufficient cooling through the
ambient air and avoid heat accumulation. Disconnect the power plug before cleaning the booster
and use only a damp cloth for cleaning. Avoid using cleaning agents and take care that no fluids
penetrate into the device.
The interior of the booster contains no parts that can be inspected or serviced by the user. Leave the
maintenance, adjustment and repair to qualified technical personnel. In case of unauthorised
intervention the 2-year warranty period is no longer valid! Keep this instruction manual safe.
Operating hints
- Before removing the battery terminals turn off the device.
- During the loading process explosive gases can be generated, therefore fire, sparking
etc. should be avoided!
- The red battery terminal has to be connected to the positive pole and the black battery termi-
nal to the minus pole Do not mix them up!
- NEVER use the booster if the charging cables or the battery terminals are damaged! Do not
shake it or push it during loading.
- NEVER try charging a frozen battery!
- Use only the fuses that are available in the booster on delivery NEVER install greater fuses.
- Clean the battery carefully before loading and check the battery voltage.
- Please note that the connected battery is allowed to have min. 50Ah and max. 750Ah
(Booster 430) or 800Ah (Booster 630).
Operating principle
When the battery is charged, the charging current is dependant on the battery type; generally it is
ca. 10% above the max. current of the battery.
Loading time
The loading time depends on the battery. An approximate formula is
Loading time = Battery capacity / charging current
During the charging process the charging current continues to drop so that the expected charging time
will be longer than min. ¼. The battery charger can load one or more batteries at the same time the
charging time will be longer then.
