• If the petrol engine has just been running, wait until it has cooled down before servicing the
spark plug.
• To ensure normal operation of the petrol engine, the spark-plug gap must be set correctly and
there must be no deposits.
1. Remove the spark-plug cap and remove the dirt from around the spark plug.
2. Remove the spark plug using a special 21-mm socket spanner.
3. Check the spark plug and replace it if it is damaged or heavily clogged, the seal is aged, or
the electrodes are excessively worn.
4. Measure the electrode gap with a feeler gauge. If necessary, bend the side electrode to
adjust the distance.
5. The spark-plug gap is 0.7–0.8 mm.
6. Install the spark plug carefully to avoid thread misalignment.
7. After installing the spark plug, tighten the spark plug with the seal using a 21-mm spark-plug
socket spanner.
Important!
• When installing a new spark plug, tighten the seal by half a turn more.
• When installing a used spark plug, tighten the seal by an eighth to a quarter of a turn more.
