5.4 Feed Operation
1. Use the feed crank handle to move the saw carriage forward.
See Figure 5-6. Squeeze the engagement lever and rotate the feed crank clockwise.
HINT: To get a straight cut in the first part of the board, feed the blade into the log at a slow
speed. This stops the blade from flexing and dipping up or down. Use a slow speed until the
whole width of the blade has entered the cut. Then increase the feed rate as desired. Maximum
