4.5 Hydraulic Problems
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
You Can Actuate Any Hydrau-
lic Handle, But Get No
Response From The Pump.
Carriage not positioned prop-
erly to provide power to the
pump
Make sure carriage contact
bracket is adjusted far enough
forward for battery positive
contact to touch 6ft. strip on
main tube. Check contact and
strip for tarnish or loose wires.
Clean as necessary
Poor ground connection Check ground connection
between pump and saw frame
and between battery negative
contact and lower rail. Check
contact and rail for tarnish or
loose wires. Clean as necce-
sary
Blown fuse Replace
Low or dead battery Test battery amperage capa-
bility (such as low battery
charge, low alternator ouput,
defective voltage regulator,
bad battery cell, battery age
deterioration, etc.). Replace
or recharge as necessary
Defective pump motor Remove motor from pump
and inspect. Repair or replace
as necessary
Poor cable connection Check cable connection and
make sure that battery termi-
nals are in good condition (not
corroded)
Defective solenoid (may be
indicated by solenoid clicking)
See Monarch manual for trou-
bleshooting solenoid
After checking all other possi-
bilities for low voltage to sole-
noid, check solenoid. Tapping
on solenoid may fix tempo-
rarily. Replace solenoid if nec-
essary. NOTE: The solenoid
is not a standard automotive
type. Order from Wood-Mizer
only
