3.12 Blade Deflection
Perform the following steps to achieve proper blade deflection with the blade guides:
1. Position the saw head so that the blade is above a bed rail. Measure the actual distance with a tape
from the top of the rail to the bottom of the blade.
See Figure 3-11.
2. Loosen the bottom jam nut and tighten the top jam nut until the blade guide deflects the blade down
3 - 4 mm.
3. Repeat for the other blade guide.
NOTE: Be sure the blade guard clears the blade. It should be checked with the blade guard all the
way in and all the way out.
