Safety Instructions
Before You Begin the Installation
Before beginning your installation:
Read this entire Installation
section so you can plan the
installation from beginning to end.
Assemble all the tools and materials you require for the
instal
lation.
Review the Important Safety Instructions on page iii.
Be aware of all safety and electrical codes which
must be met.
All wiring should be done by qualified personnel to ensure
compliance with all applicable installation codes and regulations.
Disconnect all AC and DC power sources.
Disable and secure all AC and DC disconnect dev
ices and automatic
generator starting devices.
Installation Codes
Governing installation codes vary depending on the specific
location and application of the installation. Some examples include
the following:
The U.S. National Electrical Code (NEC)
The Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs)
Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and the RV Industry
Association (R
VIA) for installations in RVs
The American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) for Marine
in
stallations in the U.S.
It is the installers responsibility to ensure that all applicable
in
stallation requirements are met.
