Scan in VFO Mode
This mode allows you to scan the entire current operating band.
1. Select the VFO mode by pressing the key, if necessary.
2. Press and hold in the key for one second, then rotate the DIAL knob to select the
bandwidth for VFO scanning. Available selections are +-1MHz, +-2MHz, +-5MHz, ALL,
PMS-X, and BAND.
ALL: Scanning will sweep all frequencies between 108 - 520 MHz and 700 -
999.990 MHz.
PMS-X: Scanning will sweep frequencies within the currently-selected PMS
frequency pair (where X is PMS memory channel number). See Program
Band Limits for VFO Mode on page 27.
BAND: Scanning will sweep frequencies only on the current band.
3. Press the key momentarily to start scanning.
During scanning, the P-X indicator appears on the display if the PMS-X
option was selected, otherwise the P Sc indicator appears on the display.
If a signal strong enough to open the squelch is encountered during
scanning, scanning will pause temporarily and the decimal point of the
frequency will blink during the pause.
Scanning will resume according to the Scan-Resume mode that was
selected. See Set the Scan-Resume Preference on page 46 for details.
