To prime the fuel system:
1. Check the level of fuel in the fuel tank. Refill the
fuel tank if necessary. See Filling The Fuel
Tank on page 32.
2. Open the fuel tank cock.
3. Turn the key to the ON position. The electric
fuel pump feeds fuel to the system.
4. When the fuel filter (Figure 2, (1)) is free of air
bubbles, the engine is ready to start.

5. NEVER use the starter motor to crank the
engine to prime the fuel system. This may
cause the starter motor to overheat and
damage the coils, pinion and / or ring gear.
