Power Connections for 6LY3
Make all connections per ABYC standards.
WARNING
Make the following battery connections ONLY if you have successfully completed all prior steps.
1. Battery positive to starter. This connection is normally made through the battery switch.
The gauge of the wire depends on the length of the cable.
2. Battery negative to engine block. The gauge of the wire depends on the length of the cable.
3. Battery negative to the engine connector, using AWG 12 or heavier wire.
4. Battery positive to engine connector. This connection is normally made through a breaker in the main panel.
5. Refer to Appendix E for a detailed power diagram.
REPEAT FOR STARBOARD ENGINE.
Connect engine blocks to each other using wire that is equal to or heavier than the battery cable.
