Appendix 2. VLAN-based routing
App.2-1
TI 30A10A30-01E
Appendix2.VLAN-basedrouting
The Recommended L3SW is set to “Port-based routing” configuration by default and it supports
“VLAN-based routing” configuration to assign some ports to a same subnet instead of L2SW in
the domain. However, the VLAN-based routing configuration requires complicated settings. For
establishing a simplified Vnet/IP network, Port-based routing configuration is recommended for
L3SW.
Refer to the following procedure only in case the VLAN-based routing configuration is required by
some unavoidable reason(s). This example creates four VLANs assigning 4 ports per VLAN.
IMPORTANT
The L3SW from live network must be segregated before executing this procedure unless
otherwise the Vnet/IP network will become unstable caused by the address conflict during an
incomplete configuration.
ClearInterfaceconfigurationpre-assignedbydefault.
At first, clear interface configuration parameters pre-assigned to each port by default.
The example as below shows the commands to clear interface configuration parameters.
F0A0201.ai
(Hirschmann MACH) (Interface 1/1)#no routing
(Hirschmann MACH) (Interface 1/1)#no ip address 192.168.1.253 255.255.255.0
(Hirschmann MACH) (Interface 1/1)#no ip rip
(Hirschmann MACH) (Interface 1/1)#no ip rip send version
(Hirschmann MACH) (Interface 1/1)#no ip igmp
Figure Clearinterfaceconfigurationparameterspre-assignedbydefault
After clearing the interface configuration parameters of all ports, confirm if no interface
configuration parameter using “show running-config” command exists.
