4.5 Configuring the System Settings
Prior to operating the Multi-Channel Online Monitor, the system settings will need to be configured in the software.
The system settings are used for the control and monitoring of all system functions, which include vessel sampling,
sample delivery, analytical device interface, data acquisition and various system monitoring protocols.
In most cases, once the system settings have been programmed, there will be no or little change required for
future uses. Although some functions can be configured or changed while the system is operating, it is highly
recommended that all functions be programmed prior to use.
If assistance is required during the configuration process, click on the icon for help.
Upon clicking the icon, a pop-up guide will appear to help the user determine what
parameter settings to use.
When the Multi-Channel Online Monitor System is actively sampling, some of the setting buttons will be locked out
and cannot be changed until the sampling is stopped. However, a few parameters can be changed while Multi-
Channel Online Monitor System is in operation, which will be discussed below.
4.5.1 Pump Settings
1. Select the Settings tab.
2. The Pump Settings are located at the top of the Settings window.
3. Enter the desired pump settings for each of the following:
a.
Vessel Pump Speed: The flow rate at which the sample will be drawn from the vessel (normally
through a FISP in-situ sample probe). The default flow rate is 1 mL/min. The maximum flow rate
when using a FISP probe is 2 mL/min.
b.
Antiseptic/Rinse Pump Speed: Enter the desired pump speed for the cleaning cycle. The
maximum and recommended pump speed is 4 ml/min.
