Function Description:

The VacSy Vacuum Pump is a portable, handheld device used to create a vacuum seal in compatible VacSy containers, lids, and bottle caps. This process removes air, which is a primary cause of food spoilage, thereby extending the freshness and shelf life of food. The pump operates with both manual and automatic functions, providing flexibility for different sealing requirements.

Before First Use:

It is crucial to connect the device to the charger for a minimum of 8 hours before its initial use.

Power Button Functions:

  • Manual Function:
    • Press the pump start button once. The white LEDs will flash intermittently, indicating the pump has started vacuuming.
    • Place the vacuum nozzle firmly on the valve of the VacSy container.
    • Once the optimal vacuum is reached, the LEDs will turn steady red.
    • Press the button again to switch off the pump.
  • Automatic Function:
    • Press the pump start button twice within two seconds. The white LEDs will flash intermittently, and the pump will begin to vacuum.
    • Place the vacuum nozzle firmly on the valve of the VacSy container.
    • When the optimal vacuum is achieved, the LEDs will turn red, and the pump will automatically switch off.

Charging:

  • The battery charging time is approximately 4 hours.
  • A quickly flashing white LED indicates a low battery.
  • During charging, the red LED remains steady.
  • When the battery is fully charged, the red LED turns off.
  • The device can be used while charging.
  • It is equipped with a USB-C charging cable and can be charged via other devices such as mobile power supplies or computer USB ports.

Choosing and Preparing Containers:

The VacSy system offers a wide range of original accessories to suit various food types:

  • Glass Containers: Ideal for food with high water content, especially when used with a grid to separate liquids from solids.
  • Polycarbonate Canisters: Best for storing dry food.
  • Universal Lids: Can be used on commercially available containers, provided they are suitable for vacuum packing.
  • Food Jars, Cheese Bells, Spice Containers, Zepter Cookware with Lexi Lid, Bottle Caps: Specific accessories for different food items and beverages.

Important Container Preparation Rules:

  • Lids must always be perfectly dry to prevent water from entering during vacuum creation.
  • Never overfill containers; leave at least two centimeters from the top to prevent liquids from being sucked into the pump.
  • Fizzy drinks cannot be vacuum packed in bottles or containers.
  • For optimal results, Zepter recommends using Zepter Masterpiece CookART for healthy food preparation without fats, water, and salt, as this helps food retain its full flavor, vitamin content, and organoleptic qualities.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your VacSy Vacuum Pump.

  • Daily Schedule:
    • Check the exterior for any leaks.
    • Clean away any debris from the pump and nozzle.
    • Check for excessive vibration or unusual noises during operation.
    • Check for heat tracing.
  • Cleaning:
    • Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
    • Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the appliance.
    • Do not use abrasive materials, alcohol, or other solvents that could scratch or damage the surface.
    • Never submerge the appliance in water or place it under running water.
    • Do not squirt detergent directly onto or into the appliance.
    • Ensure the appliance is completely dry before using it again.

Safety Instructions:

  • The working surface must be dry, at normal temperature, and without obstacles.
  • Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, can use the device under supervision or after instruction on safe use. Children should not play with the appliance, and cleaning/maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision.
  • The VacSy Pump is for home use only.
  • The manufacturer is not responsible for damage resulting from improper, incorrect, or unreasonable use.

Troubleshooting Guide:

  • Pump does not work:
    • Cause: Battery on stand-by or pump malfunctioned.
    • Solution: Follow FIRST USE procedure or contact Zepter Customer Service.
  • No vacuum created:
    • Cause: Incorrect lid positioning, food particles between lid and container, damaged seal, or damaged lid valve.
    • Solution: Reposition lid, clean carefully, replace seal, or replace cover (contact Zepter Customer Service).
  • Vacuum does not last:
    • Cause: Food residue between sponge gaskets, damaged seal, damaged lid valve, or fermented food.
    • Solution: Clean thoroughly, replace seal, replace lid (contact Zepter Customer Service), or do not eat fermented food.

Disposal:

  • Waste Batteries: Contains batteries that should not be disposed of with household waste. Hand over to appropriate collection points for recycling. Batteries do not contain excessive levels of mercury, cadmium, or lead. Do not remove the battery yourself; contact an authorized Zepter Service Centre. Do not incinerate batteries as this may cause an explosion.
  • Used Electrical and Electronic Devices: Should not be treated as ordinary household waste. Dispose of according to local authority instructions at designated sites or through an official WEEE collection service provider (Directive 2002/96/EC). Separate collection prevents environmental pollution and allows for material reuse and recovery.

Warranty:

The device is guaranteed against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase, as shown on the invoice. The warranty period is subject to local country laws. The manufacturer undertakes to repair or replace defective parts free of charge within the warranty period. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, damages from transport, inadequate use, negligence, incorrect use, use for unintended purposes, non-compliance with safety regulations, or repairs by unauthorized centers. The warranty is valid only if the device shows material or manufacturing defects, no signs of customer breakage, and no non-original pieces.
