SECTION б - INSTALLATION
I/O SIGNAL LISTS
The following sections describe each I/O signal pin in detail.
Transmitter - J2
Pin Signal
1 AC / +12V
When using +12 VDC, connect power to this pin and leave J2-2 open.
When using 9 VAC, connect power between this pin and J2-2.
2 AC
When using +12 VDC, leave this pin open. When using 9 VAC, connect
power between this pin and J2-1.
3 TX AUD HI
4 TX AUD LO
600 ohm transformer coupled audio outputs for remote control/modem
option. This output will drive -9 dBm into a 600 ohm load.
5 GND
This is the electrical common for all connections to the Model 16.
6 COR (CHANNEL BUSY)
Carrier-Operated-Relay. This pin is activated by (a) closing it to pin
5 with a contact closure, (b) pulling it to ground or pin 5 with a
transistor or logic gate, or (c) supplying it a signal referenced
either to pin 5 or ground that goes from some positive voltage greater
than +2.4V to a voltage less than 0.5V or vice-versa. How this signal
will be interpreted (i.e. is closure to ground "Busy" or "Clear") is
determined by Programming.
7 BUSY IN
Input to the Model 16 to inhibit transmission when another paging
terminal has control of the transmitter. The input may be a closure by
transistor, logic gate, or relay contact. If using a relay contact,
install P2 to place a pull-up resistor in the circuit. How this signal
will be interpreted (i.e. is closure to ground "Busy" or "Clear") is
determined by Programming.
8 REQUEST
Request to Transmit. This output is active whenever the Model 16 is
attempting to access the transmitter. THis output is RS-232C
compatible (s ±5V), and the polarity is determined by programming.
Default polarity is "POS" for active low.
9 DIG DATA
The digital data appears here during paging. This output is RS-232C
compatible.
