connection protection (SNCP), dual node interconnection (DNI)
protection, and L2 switching STP protection. MSP, SNCP, and
DNI protection comply with Recommendation G.841 and
Recommendation G.842.

For the optical cable line system, the MSP criterion is as
follows: The protection time is less than 50 ms under one of
the circumstances below:
f Loss of signal (LOS)
f Loss Of Frame (LOF)
f Alarm Indication Signal (AIS)
f The bit error exceeding the threshold
f Signal deterioration
