Thefollowingdescribesthetroubleshootingprocedure:
1.IntheMPcongurationwindow,ndtheMediumAccessControl(MAC)addressof
theRemoteMaintenanceassociationEndPoint(RMEP)correspondingtotheLocal
MaintenanceassociationEndPoint(LMEP)thatreportstheCCMlossalarm,and
initiatestheLoopback(LB)functiontowardstheMACaddresstocheckthenetwork
connectivity.
lIftheLoopbackReply(LBR)messageisreturned,thelinkisconnected.
lIfnoLBRmessageisreturned,thelinkisfaulty.
2.InitiatetheLinkTrace(LT)functiontowardstheMACaddressfoundinstep1tolocate
thelinkproblem.
BasedontheLTresult,ndtheequipmentthatlastrespondstheLinkTraceReply
(LTR)message,andchecktheRMEPMACaddressconguredforthefaultylinkon
theequipment,tondoutthefaultypoint-to-pointlink.
3.Troubleshootequipmentfaultsatthetwoendsofthelink.
4.Troubleshootconnectionmediafaultsbetweenthetwoendsofthelink.
