18.3.4 MAC-IP Binding
The Switch uses a binding table to distinguish between authorized and
unauthorized DHCP and ARP packets in your network. A binding contains these
key attributes:
• MAC address
•VLAN ID
• IP address
When the Switch receives a DHCP or ARP packet, it looks up the appropriate MAC
address, VLAN ID and IP address in the binding table. If there is a binding, the
Switch forwards the packet. If there is not a binding, the Switch discards the
packet.
18.4 Dynamic ARP Setting
Click Security > Dynamic ARP > Dynamic ARP Setting in the navigation
panel. The screen will display as shown below.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.

LABEL DESCRIPTION
State Select Enable to activate Dynamic ARP on the Switch.
Select Disable to deactivate Dynamic ARP on the Switch.
Note: You must activate dynamic ARP first if you want to add static
ARP table entries.
Apply Click Apply to save your changes to the Switch.
