Overview

This document is a user manual for the 8STREME Autonomous Swimming Pool Cleaner, a robotic device designed to clean pools.

Function Description

The 8STREME Autonomous Pool Cleaner is a powerful, ready-to-use robot designed for cleaning swimming pools of all sizes and shapes. It features an easily accessible debris basket and a floating rotary coupling to limit cable entanglement. The robot is designed to clean the pool floor and walls, including the waterline, with an orientation that provides effective brushing. It operates autonomously once submerged and activated.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Maximum Depth: 8ft
  • Maximum Pool Size: 36ft x 18ft
  • Input Current: 100-130VAC/200-230VAC
  • Output Current: <24VDC
  • Pool Water Temperature Range: 40-95°F (4.4-35°C)
  • pH Level for Optimal Performance: Close to 7.2
  • Filtration: Standard regular mesh basket, with optional fine mesh debris basket (Item# 7119) or fine filtration pads (Item# 7117) for silt and algae. The fine filter can catch particles larger than 50 microns.
  • Cleaning Cycles: 1-hour and 3-hour options.
  • Safety Features: Requires power transformer to be placed at least 11ft (3.35m) from the pool. Electrical system should be protected by a 30mA ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). Unit must only be used with the supplied transformer.

Usage Features

  • Ready to Use: The robot is delivered ready for operation.
  • Easy Submersion: Place the robot in the pool and wait for it to be completely submerged; manual assistance may be needed.
  • Cable Management: The floating rotary coupling (No-Twist floating device) limits cable entanglement. The manual advises limiting the length of cable in the pool to the bare minimum and placing the surplus outside the pool.
  • Activation: The robot is activated via an on/off button on the power transformer control box.
  • Cleaning Cycle Selection: Users can select between 1-hour (blue + orange lights) and 3-hour (blue + red lights) cleaning cycles using a switch on the transformer.
  • Wall Climbing: The robot is designed to climb walls and clean the waterline effectively, typically climbing with the side that has the handle.
  • Power Supply Placement: The power box should be placed at a midpoint between the two ends of the pool, at least 11ft from the edge.
  • Storage: When not in use for an extended period, the protective cap should be screwed onto the power supply, and the robot stored indoors.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Do not use the robot if people are in the pool.
    • Remove the robot from the pool when not in use.
    • Do not remove the robot immediately after a cleaning cycle to avoid temperature shock.
    • Do not use the robot out of the water.
    • Ensure the power transformer is disconnected before performing maintenance.
    • Avoid using damaged power cables or cords.
    • Place the power transformer under shade if ambient air temperature exceeds 95°F.
    • Do not use the robot if a counter-current swimming device is working.

Maintenance Features

  • Debris Basket Cleaning:
    • Access the filter basket by pushing upward on the cover with thumbs to unlock.
    • Lift the basket using the handles on the sides.
    • Open the lid by pulling the tab and empty contents.
    • Rinse the basket filter panels inside and outside with a jet of water.
    • Inspect and clean the inside and outside of the robot.
    • Replace the basket, ensuring it is properly aligned, then press down the handles to lock it.
  • Impeller Cleaning:
    • Use a flat screwdriver to remove the protective grill covering the impeller.
    • Clean any debris wrapped around or clogging the impeller.
    • Replace the grill guard.
    • Regular visual inspection of the impeller is recommended to prevent damage to the engine.
  • Side Brush Installation/Maintenance:
    • Locate holes for brushes, align pegs on bushes with holes.
    • Insert side brushes and secure with two screws using a screwdriver (do not overtighten).
    • Regularly check brushes and belts for wear, especially with tile coatings, and replace as needed.
  • Filter Options:
    • The robot comes with a standard regular mesh basket.
    • Optional fine filtration kit (Item# 7117) includes a "TRY ME" pad to be placed inside the standard basket to catch fine debris.
    • Optional fine mesh debris basket (Item# 7119) can replace the standard basket to catch silt and algae.
    • Fine filtration may clog easier, requiring regular cleaning.
  • Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting section with common problems, causes, and solutions, covering issues like the robot floating, not cleaning, not recovering debris, not moving, not climbing walls, or leaving traces.
  • Spare Parts List and Drawing: Detailed lists and diagrams of spare parts are provided for easy identification and ordering.
