The support system that is needed to carry the weight of the lift and guide it along the rail is shown in figure below
(Figure 4-9). Because it is very likely that the weight (centre of gravity of chair system) is not directly above the rail
during its travel, the mounting and guidance construction prevents the chair from rolling around the rail tube. The
design is symmetrical because the drive base must be able to function on both the left and right side of a staircase.
