BHB and acetone are different substances, so it is diffi-
cult to make an accurate statement about the correla-
tion between them. BHB is used by the body as energy,
while acetone is a byproduct of blood ketone produc-
tion. The results may vary depending on how well the
body utilizes the BHB, at the same time the byproduct
acetone continues to be released. The conclusion is
therefore that although these substances have a similar
tendency, they do not move with exactly the same curve
and are therefore not directly comparable.
