What to do if Acer Laptop has no POST or video?
    • R
      Roger ColemanJul 26, 2025
If your Acer Laptop shows no POST or video, ensure the internal display is selected and the computer has power (fans start, status LEDs light up). Then, drain any stored power by removing the power cable and battery, holding the power button for 10 seconds. Reconnect the power and reboot. Try connecting an external monitor. Disconnect all external devices, remove memory cards and CD/DVD discs, and restart. Reseat the memory modules and remove the drives.

If your Acer Laptop randomly loses BIOS settings, and it's more than a year old, replace the CMOS battery. Run a complete virus scan using up-to-date software. If the computer is experiencing HDD or ODD BIOS information loss, disconnect and reconnect the power and data cables between the devices. If HDD information is missing from the BIOS, the drive may be defective and should be replaced. As a last resort, replace the Motherboard.
