How to troubleshoot no sound issue on Acoustic Research Speaker System?
    • D
      Dylan TaylorJul 27, 2025
If your Acoustic Research Speaker System has no sound, first ensure the transmitter's AC power adapter is fully inserted into the wall and firmly connected to the transmitter's power input. Confirm the speaker is on and tuned to the transmitter, indicated by a blue STDBY./TUNED light. If using power adapters, check that both are correctly inserted into the wall outlets and connected to the power input jacks. If using batteries, ensure they are fresh and correctly inserted. Verify that the audio source is on and transmitting sound, and that the speaker volumes are turned up. If using a Tape 2 Monitor output, ensure the Tape Monitor/Tape 2 button on the receiver is activated.

      Cody JohnsonAug 9, 2025
If your Acoustic Research Speaker System has no sound, distortion, or static, first ensure that if you are using battery power, the batteries are fresh. Check that the speaker STDBY./TUNED indicator is illuminated blue. Try changing the position of the channel select switch (1, 2, or 3) to change the operating frequency, or press the ON/OFF/TUNING/VOL. control up once to make the speaker retune. Also, reposition the transmitter to be higher and away from obstructions, avoiding placement on or behind a TV. Finally, move the transmitter and speaker closer together, as certain materials can decrease the system's transmitting distance.
