6Using the OTS module
This chapter describes the different steps required to make an OTS measurement:
❏ OTS Test Setup
❏ OTS Result Display
❏ OTS measurements
❏ Result acquisition methods
OTS Test SET-UP

To set up the OTS and then make a measurement of the fiber under test the
following parameters need to be configured:
❏ Light source parameters (if available): Wavelength, Transmission mode,
Scanning, Power type and Unit required.
All these parameters are configured from the Light Source menu of the OTS
Test Setup window.

❏ Power meter parameters (if available): Wavelength, Range, result storage
mode and storage frequency, Real Time mode, Unit required, External
Attenuation and Alarm Threshold.
All these parameters are configured from the Power meter menu of the OTS
Test Setup window.

1. If an OTS module is installed
2. To call the OTS TEST SETUP window to select the required source and power
meter parameters, press the <SET-UP> button. If either the SYSTEM or IN-
STRUMENT SETUP windows are already displayed press the <Test Setup> key
to call the OTS TEST SETUP window.
