Reading the buffer storing the trace
The current curve is stored in a buffer.
Capacity of this buffer: 4 x number of points.
Each point is coded using four ASCII characters on 16 bits.
Command used to read the buffer: OTResult:BUFFer?
Example of response for a buffer of 2000 points:
In this example, for the first point, the y value is 217F in signed hexadecimal. To
know the value in dB process as follows:
convert 217F in signed decimal: 8575
use the commands given below to know the coefficients A and B
value in dB with the given examples:
A*y + B = (-0.001470 x 8575) + 12.640910 = 0.036 dB
In this example, for the last point, the y value is CB00 in signed hexadecimal.
Thus:
CB00 in signed decimal = -13568
the value in dB is:
A*y + B = [-0.001470 x (-13568)] + 12.640910 = 32,586 dB
Number of points in the buffer?
OTRESult:SIZE?
Example of response: 32000
Abscissa of the first point in second?
OTRESul:XOFFset?
Example of response: 0.000000
To convert this result from second to distance, report to "Conversion from delay
to distance" on page 9-19.
Time between 2 points?
OTRESul:XSCale?
Example of response: 6.250000e-09
To convert this result from second to distance, report to "Conversion from delay
to distance" on page 9-19.
Coeff B of the function A*y + B?
OTRESult:YOFFset?
