OTDR Test SET-UP
The available choices are displayed on the screen; these depend on the chosen
function. Make the required choice with the ← and → directional arrows.
Selecting measurement acquisition parameters
You can choose the following measurement acquisition parameters, from the
Acquisition menu of the ODTR TEST SETUP window, regardless of the type of
measurement made on the trace:
Laser Choose the wavelength for multi-lambda modules: the values
provided depend on the modules installed.
All: each acquisition is made on all the available wavelengths.
Mode Choose the acquisition mode:
Manual.
Auto: the unit will automatically configure the best acquisition
parameters according to the fiber under test.
Pulse Depending on the modules. See Technical specifications chapter 9.
Range Depending on the modules. See Technical specifications chapter 9.
The range you can select depends on the pulse width you select.
The range values you can select for each pulsewidth are given in
section "Ranges" on page 11-13.
Resolution from 4 cm to 160 m according to the module.
No measurement sampling. The available values depend on the
Range and on the Acq. time selected.
AUTO : the resolution is automatically chosen depending on the
Range and Acq. time parameters.
Acq. Time From 5 s. to 10 mn
This acquisition period is used for real time or averaged
acquisition. For example, if 1 minute is selected and a real time
acquisition is performed, the real time period will be 1 minute.

The key <Test Auto> sets the following parameters:
• Acquisition parameters

Mode Auto
Resolution Auto
• File parameters (see page 8-1)
