Overview

This document is an instruction manual for the Active Era Premium Air Bed, model AE-ABD01, designed for sports and outdoors use.

Function Description:

The Active Era Premium Air Bed is an inflatable mattress designed for indoor household use and similar applications. It features an integrated electric air pump for convenient inflation and deflation. The air bed serves as a mattress for sleeping and should not be used as a buoyancy aid, lifebuoy, or life-saving device. It is not intended for use by infants aged birth to 15 months due to the risk of suffocation. The air bed is designed to be fully inflated when in use to prevent entrapment and provide proper support.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: AE-ABD01
  • Dimensions: 137 x 195 x 46cm
  • Weight: 6.8kg
  • Power: 120W
  • Voltage: AC 220-240V
  • Frequency: 50Hz
  • Inflation Time: Approximately 1.5 minutes for a single airbed, up to 3 minutes for a queen size airbed.
  • Deflation Time: Up to 3 minutes.
  • Air Pump Usage Limit: Do not use the air pump for more than 5 consecutive minutes at a time. Allow 20 minutes to cool down between uses. The pump has an automatic shut-off feature if overheating occurs.
  • Weight Limit: Most Active Era air beds have a weight limit of 250 kgs or 550 lb. Users should check the product page or the instruction manual for product-specific weight limits.

Usage Features:

  • Integrated Electric Air Pump: The air bed includes a built-in electric pump for quick and easy inflation and deflation. The control dial allows users to select "INFLATE," "OFF," or "DEFLATE" modes.
  • Manual Inflation Valve: In the absence of electrical power, a conventional foot or manual operated air pump can be connected to the air bed for inflation.
  • Power Cord Storage: The power cord is stored in a compartment at the top of the bed.
  • Firmness Adjustment: After initial inflation, users can lie on the air bed to test firmness and repeat inflation steps if it feels too soft.
  • First Uses and Stretching: New vinyl air beds may sag during their first few uses due to natural stretching. It is recommended to inflate the air bed at least 30 minutes prior to first use and top up as needed to allow it to reach its natural shape.
  • Temperature Sensitivity: Air inside the mattress expands in hot temperatures and contracts in cold temperatures. Users should add air in cold conditions and release air in hot conditions to maintain desired firmness and prevent damage. Avoid exposing the air bed to extreme temperatures.
  • Placement Guidelines: Choose a flat, smooth, even, and clean indoor surface free of sharp objects. Ensure adequate space around the bed to avoid entrapment between the mattress and bed frame or vertical surfaces (walls, dressers, etc.). A minimum 50cm clearance around all sides is recommended.
  • Safety Precautions:
    • Always unplug the appliance before relocating, servicing, or cleaning.
    • Not a flotation device.
    • Do not immerse the electric air pump in water or expose it to wet environments.
    • Do not obstruct air passage openings or insert objects into them.
    • Do not use the power cord or operate the air pump with wet hands.
    • Do not leave the air pump unattended while in use.
    • Keep children and pets away from the air bed and air pump.
    • Do not allow children to use the air pump.
    • Do not place infants (15 months or younger) to sleep on the air mattress due to suffocation risk.
    • Do not walk, stand, or jump on the air bed.
    • Avoid sleeping on the edge of the air bed as it provides less support.
    • Do not use flammable liquids or sprays near the air bed.
    • Always plug the appliance directly into a wall socket; avoid extension leads.
    • Do not operate if there are signs of damage to the appliance or power cord.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning:
    • Always turn off and unplug the appliance before cleaning.
    • Clean the exterior surface of the appliance by wiping it with a soft, damp cloth, then dry with a soft, clean cloth.
    • Clean the vents and openings of the air pump regularly with a vacuum cleaner and brush attachment to prevent dust build-up.
    • Use soapy water to clean the surface of the airbed; do not use chemicals or abrasive cleaners/solvents.
    • Do not get the flocked surface wet; if it does, remove bedding and allow it to air dry.
    • Do not allow water or other liquids to run into the interior of the air pump.
  • Storage:
    • Deflate the air bed completely.
    • Ensure the air bed is clean and dry.
    • Lay the bed flat with the sleeping surface facing upwards.
    • Fold the air bed loosely, avoiding sharp bends, corners, and creases that could damage it.
    • Store the appliance in a safe, clean, dry place, out of reach of children and direct sunlight.
    • It is recommended to use the original or a similar-sized box for storage.
  • Puncture Repair:
    • To find a puncture, inflate the air bed, spray its surface (avoiding electrical components) with soapy water, and look for bubbles.
    • Wipe the air bed dry with a soft cloth.
    • Repair punctures using the provided puncture kit, which includes common PVC repair glue and patches. Do not use flammable aerosols for repair.
  • Recycling and Disposal:
    • Waste electrical and electronic products (WEEE), batteries, accumulators, and packaging should not be disposed of with general household waste.
    • Contact local council, household waste disposal service, or the store for information on collection schemes.
    • Old batteries and lamp bulbs should be separated before disposal and recycling.
    • One Retail Group offers a take-back scheme for WEEE when purchasing a new product on a like-for-like basis. More information is available on www.activeera.com.
