A key feature is the Tare function, which allows users to reset the scale to zero after placing a container on the weighing platform. This enables the measurement of subsequent ingredients without including the weight of the container, or to measure multiple ingredients consecutively in the same bowl. The tare function is repeatable until the maximum capacity of 5 kg is reached. After removing the load, the display will show the total weight as a negative reading.

The scale also includes an automatic switch-off feature. If the indicated weight remains unchanged for approximately two minutes, the scale will automatically turn off to conserve battery life. Users can also manually switch off the scale by pressing the ON/OFF button for about two seconds. When the scale is in off-mode, it conveniently displays the room temperature.
