Overview

The Admiral ACC-0206 is a digital, multi-function GPS speedometer designed to provide a comprehensive suite of information for various applications. This device integrates several key functions, including positioning, timing, mileage, speed, voltage, and temperature, all presented through a clear and intuitive user interface.

Function Description:

The core function of the ACC-0206 is to act as a GPS speedometer, displaying current speed, average speed, and maximum speed. Beyond basic speed measurement, it offers advanced features such as:

  • Positioning: Utilizes GPS to determine location and direction of motion, indicated by a compass rose on the display.
  • Timing: Includes a clock (24H format) and various hour meters: Total Hours (ART), Job Hours (RT), SVC Hours 1, and SVC Hours 2. These timing functions are crucial for maintenance scheduling and operational tracking.
  • Mileage: Tracks Odometer (ODO), Trip Mileage (TRP DST), and Target Mileage (TAR DST), allowing users to monitor total distance, trip-specific distances, and set mileage goals.
  • Temperature Monitoring: Displays Air Temperature (AIR) and Engine Temperature (SEN), with alert functions for both. This is vital for monitoring environmental conditions and engine health.
  • Voltage Monitoring: Shows Battery Voltage and Maximum Battery Voltage, ensuring users are aware of their power system's status.
  • Alerts: Features alert functions for speed (Alert Speed), engine temperature (Alert Temperature), and service hours (SVC1, SVC2), as well as low internal battery voltage and bad satellite signal.

Usage Features:

The ACC-0206 is designed for ease of use with a straightforward interface and operation:

  • User Interface: The device cycles through three main screens, each presenting different combinations of data. Users can switch between these screens freely by pressing the "MENU" button.
    • Screen 1: Displays direction of motion, number of satellites, speed, air temperature, and clock.
    • Screen 2: Displays direction of motion, number of satellites, speed, battery voltage, and odometer.
    • Screen 3: Displays direction of motion, number of satellites, speed, engine temperature, and total time (ART).
  • Navigation: "UP" and "DOWN" buttons allow users to view more detailed information within each screen.
  • Setup Mode: Accessed by pressing the "MENU" button until the desired screen is displayed. Within setup, users can configure various parameters such as speed units (KM/H, M/H, KNOT), alert speed value, temperature units (°C/°F), alert temperature value, SVC1/SVC2 timer values, target mileage, and clock mode (24H or LOCAL CLK). The "SET" button is used to confirm selections and move to the next setup option.
  • Reset Functionality: The device allows users to reset specific values like Max Speed, Max Voltage, Min Voltage, Max Temp of Air, Max Temp of Sensor, Job Hours, and Trip Distance. This is initiated by holding the "SET" button for 2 seconds. "UP/DOWN" buttons adjust the value, and "MENU/SET" switches to the next value.
  • Alerts and Reminders: The device provides visual (LCD icon flashes) and LED (yellow or red light flashes) reminders for SVC hours, target mileage reached, speeding, over-temperature, low internal battery voltage, and bad satellite signal. These reminders can be cleared by holding the "SET" button.
  • Automatic Shutdown/Backlight: The backlight turns off after 30 seconds of no operation. If there's no operation for 5 minutes, the display will only show the clock, returning to normal display upon button operation or GPS speed detection.
  • Installation: The product can be installed using screws or 3M double-sided adhesive tape. It includes a GPS sensor, temperature sensor, and power wire for connection. The temperature sensor should be fastened near the engine or motor for accurate readings.

Maintenance Features:

While the internal battery is not user-replaceable, the device incorporates features that aid in overall system maintenance:

  • Service Hour Tracking (SVC1, SVC2): These timers allow users to set specific intervals for maintenance tasks, providing alerts when service is due. This is crucial for proactive maintenance of the vehicle or equipment the speedometer is installed on.
  • Job Hour Tracking (RT): Helps monitor operational hours for specific jobs, which can be useful for scheduling maintenance based on actual usage.
  • Temperature Alerts: High engine temperature alerts help prevent damage by notifying the user of potential overheating issues.
  • Low Battery Voltage Alert: Warns of low internal battery voltage, although the internal battery itself is not user-serviceable.
  • Waterproof Design (IP67): The IP67 rating ensures the device is protected against dust and temporary immersion in water, contributing to its durability and reducing the need for frequent repairs due to environmental exposure. However, it should not be used in deep water or soaked in rain for extended periods.

Important Notices:

  • Users are advised to follow installation instructions carefully to avoid damage.
  • The internal battery is not user-replaceable.
  • Avoid pulling wires to prevent damage or poor contact.
  • Install the product in a proper location to prevent physical damage.
  • Use the product within the specified temperature range to avoid damage.
