Overview

This document describes the AEG FSX52927Z Dishwasher, providing a user manual for its operation, maintenance, and safety.

Function Description

The AEG FSX52927Z is a dishwasher designed for cleaning household-type dishes and tableware. It operates with a water softener system to remove minerals from the water supply, which helps prevent limescale buildup and improves washing results. The appliance features a Beam-on-Floor light projection that indicates the program status: red for running, green for completion, and flashing red for malfunctions. It also includes an AirDry function, which automatically opens the door during the drying phase to enhance drying performance. The dishwasher offers various programs, including a standard ECO program for efficient energy and water consumption, and an AUTO Sense program that automatically adjusts the wash cycle based on the load's soil level and quantity.

Usage Features

The dishwasher is activated by pressing and holding the On/Off button. Before first use, users must adjust the water softener level according to local water hardness, fill the salt container, and fill the rinse aid dispenser. It is recommended to run the 30min program without detergent or dishes for the initial cycle to remove manufacturing residuals.

Program Selection: Programs can be selected using the MY TIME selection bar, which offers cycles based on duration (30min, 90min, ECO) and an AUTO Sense program. The 30min program is suitable for lightly soiled items, 90min for normally soiled items, and ECO is the most efficient program for normal soil. The AUTO Sense program intelligently adapts the wash temperature, water quantity, and duration based on the load.

Options: The ExtraPower option can be activated to improve washing results by increasing the wash temperature and duration. This option is not permanent and must be selected for each desired program.

Delay Start: The start of a selected program can be delayed by 3 hours. During the countdown, program selection cannot be changed.

Detergent and Rinse Aid: Users should use dishwasher-specific detergent, salt, and rinse aid. The detergent dispenser has a main compartment and an inner part for prewash detergent if the program includes one. The rinse aid dispenser has a selector to adjust the released quantity. Multi-tabs containing salt and rinse aid can be used, but for optimal results in hard water areas, separate salt, rinse aid, and basic detergent are recommended.

Loading Baskets: Dishes should be loaded to maximize space without items touching or covering each other to ensure proper water circulation. Hollow items should face downwards, and light or plastic items should be placed in the upper basket to prevent movement. Knives and sharp utensils should be loaded with points down or horizontally.

End of Program: Upon program completion, the Auto Off function automatically switches off the appliance. An acoustic signal can be activated to sound at the end of a program.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the dishwasher.

Machine Care Program: The appliance features a Machine Care program designed for internal cleaning to remove limescale and grease buildup. The Machine Care indicator illuminates when cleaning is needed. Before running this program, filters and spray arms should be cleaned. A descaler or dishwasher-specific cleaning product should be used, and no dishes should be in the baskets.

External Cleaning: The appliance exterior should be cleaned with a moist, soft cloth and neutral detergents. Abrasive products, pads, or solvents should be avoided.

Internal Cleaning: The appliance interior, including the rubber gasket, should be wiped clean with a soft damp cloth weekly. A dishwasher cleaning product should be used at least once every two months to maintain performance.

Filter System Cleaning: The filter system, consisting of three parts (flat filter A, filter B, and filter C), should be checked and cleaned regularly. To clean, turn filter B counterclockwise and remove it, then separate filter C from filter B, and finally remove flat filter A. All parts should be washed under running water, ensuring no food residues remain. Reassemble the filters by placing flat filter A under its guides, then reassembling filters B and C, and turning filter B clockwise until it locks. Incorrect filter positioning can lead to poor washing results and appliance damage.

Spray Arm Cleaning: The lower and ceiling spray arms should be cleaned regularly to prevent clogging. To clean the lower spray arm, pull it upwards, then wash it under running water, using a thin pointed tool to clear any clogged holes. To clean the ceiling spray arm, move the upper basket to its lowest level, detach the spray arm by turning its mounting element counterclockwise, and pull it downwards. Wash the spray arm under running water, clearing holes with a thin pointed tool. The upper spray arm should not be removed; instead, any clogged openings should be cleared with a thin pointed object.

Salt Container: The salt container should be refilled when the salt indicator turns on. For the first fill, add 1 liter of water before adding 1 kg of regeneration salt. After filling, ensure the cap is tightly closed and immediately start a complete dishwashing cycle with detergent to prevent corrosion from spilled salt and water.

Rinse Aid Dispenser: The rinse aid dispenser should be refilled when the rinse aid indicator turns on. Pour rinse aid up to the 'max' level and wipe away any spills. The dispensed quantity can be adjusted using the selector.

Troubleshooting: The manual provides a comprehensive troubleshooting guide for common issues, including the appliance not starting, not filling with water, not draining, anti-flood device activation, water level sensor malfunctions, pump malfunctions, temperature issues, and other technical malfunctions. Alarm codes, indicated by flashing lights on the MY TIME selection bar and acoustic signals, help identify specific problems. For issues not covered or persistent problems, users are advised to contact an Authorised Service Centre.
