Usage Features
First Use and Clock Setting:
When first plugged in, the oven allows for clock setting (24-hour format). Users can choose to turn the clock "on" or "off." If "on," the time of day will be displayed.
Standby (Economy Mode):
The oven automatically enters standby mode if not used within 5 minutes. The display switches off. To exit standby, open the door, press any key, or rotate the knob.
Adjusting the Clock:
The clock can be adjusted by rotating the knob to set hours and minutes, confirmed by pressing the START key.
Child Safety Lock:
This feature prevents accidental running of the oven by a child. The lock can be activated and deactivated using the STOP key.
Microwave Cooking:
To start microwave cooking, users select the desired power level (e.g., 560 W for 30 minutes) and confirm with the START key. The cooking time can be adjusted during operation by pressing the START key multiple times to add increments of time.
Power Levels and Suggested Use:
- 800 W/HIGH: For fast cooking or reheating (e.g., soup, casseroles, canned food, hot beverages, vegetables, fish).
- 560 W: For longer cooking of dense foods (e.g., roast joints, meat loaf, plated meals) and sensitive dishes (e.g., cheese sauce, sponge cakes). Ensures even cooking without over-cooking.
- 400 W: For dense foods requiring long cooking times conventionally (e.g., beef dishes) to ensure tenderness.
- 240 W/DEFROST: For even defrosting, simmering rice, pasta, dumplings, and cooking egg custard.
- 80 W: For gentle defrosting (e.g., cream gateaux or pastry).
- 0 W: For standing/kitchen timer.
Using the Stop Key:
Pressing the STOP key once enters Pause mode. Pressing it again cancels the cooking time.
Kitchen Timer:
The kitchen timer can be set by pressing the KITCHEN TIMER key, rotating the knob to enter the time, and pressing START. The timer only functions when the oven is not running.
Quick Start:
Pressing the START key directly starts cooking at 800 W/HIGH for 30 seconds. More time can be added by pressing the START key again.
Mute Function:
The sound can be turned off or on by pressing the KITCHEN TIMER key three times and adjusting the 'Soun' display with the knob.
Auto Defrost:
The auto defrost function automatically calculates the correct cooking mode and time based on the weight of the food. It offers options for meat/fish/poultry and bread. The display segments indicate when the food needs to be stirred or turned over.
Favourites:
The oven has 3 Favourite recipes: Soften Butter, Melt Chocolate, and Mug Cake. Users can select and cook these recipes by pressing the FAVOURITE key and rotating the knob.
Cooking Charts:
The manual provides detailed cooking charts for heating food and drink, defrosting, and cooking from frozen, specifying quantities, power levels, times, and methods. It also includes recipes for Rich Chocolate Mug Cake, Raspberry Ripple Mug Cake, Apple Crumble Mug Cake, Lemon Drizzle Mug Cake, and Carrot Mug Cake.
Microwave Safe Cookware:
The manual lists microwave-safe and unsafe cookware, including aluminium foil/containers (use small pieces for shielding, keep 2 cm from oven walls), china and ceramics (suitable, avoid metallic decoration), glassware (use carefully), metal (not recommended), plastic/polystyrene (use carefully), freezer/roasting bags (pierce to let steam escape, avoid plastic/metal ties), paper plates/cups/kitchen paper (for warming/absorbing moisture), straw/wooden containers (attend oven), and recycled paper/newspaper (not recommended).
Microwave Cooking Advice:
- Composition: Foods high in fat or sugar require less heating time.
- Size: Even cooking requires all pieces to be the same size.
- Temperature of food: Affects cooking time.
- Arrange: Place thickest parts of food towards the outside.
- Cover: Use vented microwave cling film or a suitable lid.
- Pierce: Foods with a shell or membrane must be pierced to prevent explosion. Eggs must not be heated in sealed containers.
- Stir, turn, and rearrange: Essential for even cooking.
- Stand: Standing time is necessary after cooking for heat to disperse.
- Shield: Warm areas can be shielded with small pieces of foil.
Maintenance Features
Care and Cleaning:
- General: Remove all trace of dirt, regularly clean both sides of the door, door seals, and sealing surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metal scrapers on the oven glass.
- Oven Interior: Clean any splatters or spills with a soft damp cloth or sponge. For heavier spills, use a mild soap and wipe several times. Do not remove the waveguide cover. Ensure small vents in the walls are clean. Do not use spray type cleaners. Clean the waveguide cover, oven cavity, turntable, and turntable support after use. Built-up grease may overheat and cause fire.
- Oven Exterior: Clean with mild soap and water, then wipe with a moist cloth and dry with a soft towel.
- Control Panel: De-activate the control panel before cleaning. Clean with a cloth dampened with water only. Avoid excessive amounts of water. Do not use any sort of chemical or abrasive cleaner.
- Turntable and Turntable Support: Remove and wash with mild soapy water. Both are dishwasher safe.
- Important: Clean the oven at regular intervals and remove any food deposits. Failure to maintain cleanliness can lead to deterioration of the surface, affecting appliance life and potentially causing hazardous situations.
- Turntable Care: Do not displace the turntable when removing containers. To prevent breakage, allow the turntable to cool before cleaning with water. Do not put hot foods or utensils on a cold turntable, or cold foods/utensils on a hot turntable.
Safety Information:
- The appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities if supervised and instructed. Children should not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be done by children unless supervised and aged 8 or above.
- Not intended for use at altitudes above 2000m.
- WARNING: If the door or door seals are damaged, the oven must not be operated until repaired by a competent person.
- WARNING: Only a competent person should carry out service or repair that involves removing a cover protecting against microwave energy exposure.

- Do not use commercial oven cleaners, steam cleaners, abrasive, harsh cleaners, or scouring pads on any part of the microwave oven.
Additional Advice:
- Do not use for deep frying; oil temperature cannot be controlled and may catch fire.
- Only use special microwave popcorn makers for popcorn.
- Individuals with pacemakers should consult their doctor or pacemaker manufacturer regarding microwave ovens.
- Never spill or insert objects into door lock or ventilation openings. In case of a spill, turn off, unplug, and call an authorised ELECTROLUX service agent.
- Never modify the oven.
- Only use the turntable and support designed for this oven. Do not operate without the turntable.
- Water vapour or drops may occasionally form on oven walls or around door seals; this is normal and not an indication of microwave leakage.
Troubleshooting:
The manual includes a troubleshooting section to address common issues such as the appliance not working, microwave mode not working, turntable not turning, appliance not switching off, interior light not working, food taking longer to heat, or door not opening due to power cut.
