This document is a user manual for the AEG NSC7G181DS Fridge Freezer, providing comprehensive instructions for its safe installation, operation, and maintenance.
The appliance is designed for storing food and beverages in a single household domestic indoor environment. It can also be used in offices, hotel guest rooms, bed & breakfast guest rooms, farm guest houses, and similar accommodations, provided the usage levels do not exceed average domestic use. The fridge freezer operates within an ambient temperature range of 10°C to 43°C.
Function Description
The AEG NSC7G181DS is a fridge freezer equipped with various functions to ensure optimal food preservation and energy efficiency. It features separate compartments for refrigeration and freezing, allowing for flexible storage of fresh and frozen goods.
Usage Features
The control panel, located at the top of the appliance, allows users to manage various settings:
- Temperature Regulation: Users can set the desired temperature for both the fridge and freezer compartments. The recommended settings are +4°C for the fridge and -18°C for the freezer. The temperature indicators on the display show the current set temperature.
- ECO Function: This function optimizes temperatures for food preservation while minimizing energy consumption. When activated, the fridge temperature is set to +4°C and the freezer to -18°C. The ECOMETER indicator, with three fully lit bars, shows the most energy-efficient setup. The ECO function cannot be activated when the Extra Cool function is on.
- Extra Cool Function: Designed for rapid cooling of large amounts of warm food, such as after grocery shopping, to prevent warming of already stored items. The fan may activate automatically when this function is on. It stops automatically after a set period.
- Extra Freeze Function: This feature is used for pre-freezing and fast freezing in the freezer compartment. It accelerates the freezing of fresh food and protects existing frozen items from warming. It is recommended to activate this function at least 24 hours before placing fresh food for freezing. The function stops automatically after 52 hours.
- Fan Function: The fridge compartment includes a fan for rapid food cooling and uniform temperature distribution. It activates automatically when needed or can be switched on manually via the control panel. The fan operates only when the door is closed.
- Alarms:
- High Temperature Alarm: Alerts the user if the freezer compartment temperature increases significantly (e.g., due to a power failure). The alarm indicator flashes, the freezer temperature indicator shows "H°" and blinks, and an audible sound is emitted. The alarm can be deactivated by pressing the freezer temperature button and will restart after one hour if normal conditions are not restored.
- Door Open Alarm: Activates if the fridge door is left open for approximately 5 minutes or the freezer door for about 80 seconds. An audible sound and the door open alarm indicator turn on, and the internal fridge light may flash. The alarm stops when the door is closed.
- Setting Mode: This mode allows users to customize various appliance settings:
- Enable or disable the ECOMETER indicator.
- Enable or disable button sounds.
- Change temperature units between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).
- Reset the control panel to factory default settings.
- Internal Configuration:
- Door Shelves: Adjustable to accommodate food packages of various sizes.
- Movable Shelves: The refrigerator walls are equipped with runners for flexible shelf positioning. Some models include a two-part shelf that can be folded to create more space.
- GreenZone Drawer: A pull-out drawer in the bottom of the refrigerator compartment with a humidity control device to manage internal humidity, optimizing preservation for fruits and vegetables. The humidity control device should not have food placed directly on it.
- CleanAir+ Filter: An activated carbon filter that absorbs unwanted odors, improving food storage quality and preventing cross-contamination of aromas.
Maintenance Features
- Cleaning: The interior and all internal accessories should be regularly cleaned with lukewarm water and a neutral soap. Door seals should be checked and wiped clean. A tube cleaner is provided to periodically clean the defrost water drain hole in the refrigerator compartment. Abrasive products, solvents, or metal objects should not be used for cleaning.
- Defrosting: The refrigerator compartment automatically defrosts, with water draining into a special container at the back of the appliance where it evaporates. The freezer compartment is frost-free, meaning no frost build-up occurs on internal walls or food during operation.
- CleanAir+ Filter Replacement: The air filter needs to be replaced every 6 months. The appliance will indicate when a replacement is due via the Air filter change indicator and Filter Reset alarm indicator. Instructions are provided for installing and replacing the filter.
- Lamp Replacement: The appliance is equipped with a long-life LED interior light. Only authorized service personnel are permitted to replace the lighting device.
- Period of Non-Operation: If the appliance will not be used for an extended period, it should be disconnected from the power supply, emptied of food, cleaned, and the doors left open to prevent unpleasant smells.
