Overview

This document describes the Aegis Pharmaceutical Refrigerator, an appliance designed for storing pharmaceutical products and drugs that require a temperature environment of 2°C to 8°C. It is applicable for use in pharmacies, pharmaceutical factories, quarantine stations, health centers, and hospitals.

Function Description:

The refrigerator is equipped with a computer control system and a digital display with 0.1°C accuracy, allowing for precise temperature management within the 2°C to 8°C range. It features a multi-fault alarm system that includes high and low temperature alarms, low battery alarm, power failure alarm, sensor error alarm, and door ajar alarm. These alarms are communicated through both an audible buzzer and a flashing indicator. The refrigeration system is optimized with high-quality hermetically sealed compressors and other components for efficient performance. The design emphasizes user-friendliness, with smart computer control and no required adjustments. It also incorporates high-performance thermal insulation and automatic removal of condensate water. Some models (except EL-RG-9H/14H) feature an electric heated glass door with multiple anti-condensation technologies.

  • Exterior/Interior Material: Cold-rolled steel with power coated/Cold-rolled steel with power coated or Powder coated cold rolled steel/Stainless steel.
  • GWP (Global Warming Potential): R134a has a GWP of 1430.

Usage Features:

  • Initial Power-on: After installation, the unit should stand still for 24 hours before being powered up. Once powered on, turn on the battery charging switch. The audible alarm may trigger initially but will stop once the sensor temperature reaches 5°C±3°C. The refrigerator is preset to operate at 2-8°C from the factory.
  • Temperature Setting: The temperature can be reset by pressing "Sensor" and "Cal Cancel" buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. The display will show the original set value, which can then be adjusted using the "Cal Cancel" (increase) or "Sensor" (decrease) buttons.
  • USB Function: The unit has a USB port for exporting test data. It automatically collects and stores data every 6 minutes for up to 10 years. The data can be exported to a USB drive, with "USb" blinking during export and "ALL" indicating completion. The time system for data recording can also be set via the USB interface.
  • Anti-condensation Controller (EL-RG-31H): This intelligent controller operates heating on the door and cabinet to prevent condensation based on environmental temperature and humidity.
  • Defrost Cycle: The refrigerator has two automatic defrost cycles:
    • Cycle defrost: The refrigeration system cycles on and off to maintain constant temperature. A small electric heater thaws frost from the evaporator surface without significant impact on chamber temperature.
    • Forced defrost cycle (EL-R/G 9H, 12H, 14H, 16H only): Initiates if environmental humidity is too high or products emit too much moisture, and cycle defrost is insufficient.
  • Alarm System: If an alarm condition is not corrected within 20 minutes, the buzzer and remote control contact will restart. A fully charged emergency battery can maintain alarm function for 48 hours during a power outage. A "Alarm Test" key allows checking the alarm system's functionality. Remote alarm terminals (NO, NC, COM) are available on some models (EL-R/G 12H/14H/16H/31H/33H) for external alarm connections.
  • Overcurrent Protection Circuit Breaker (EL-R/G 12H/16H only): Located on the back of the cabinet, this device trips to open the circuit when overloaded, protecting the freezer's entire circuit. Pressing the switch restarts the unit.
  • Installation: Requires a minimum space of 10 cm around the refrigerator for ventilation. The unit should be placed on solid, flat ground and connected to a dedicated, grounded power outlet. Avoid narrow or confined spaces, direct sunshine, and humid locations. If an extension cord is needed, it must have a cross-section area of at least 2 mm² and be no longer than 3 meters. The unit should not be tilted more than 45° during handling. Leveling legs should be adjusted to ensure stability.
  • Loading: Do not load more than 1/3 of the storage volume at once to avoid thermal overloading. Ensure the unit reaches set temperature before loading.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning: The refrigerator should be cleaned once a month with a damp cloth and light soapy water. Avoid using brushes, acids, gasoline, soap powders, polishing powders, or hot water, as these can damage the interior. Do not dump water directly onto the interior.
  • Lamp Replacement:
    • EL-RG-9H/14H: Equipped with a fluorescent lamp. Unplug the power cord, remove the lamp cover and tube, replace with a new lamp of the same specification, and switch on power.
    • EL-R/G 12H/16H/23H/31H/33H: Equipped with an LED lamp. Contact service department for replacement.
  • Battery Maintenance: The rechargeable battery for the power failure alarm should be tested every 15 days. If the battery level remains low after 7 days of charging, it should be replaced. The battery has a 3-year service life and should be replaced earlier if used for more than 3 years.
  • Rechargeable Battery Recycling: The built-in rechargeable battery is recyclable. When its service life expires, contact a local battery recycling organization for proper disposal. Battery removal should be performed by a qualified technician due to high-voltage electrical components. Ensure correct polarity when replacing the battery (brown wire to positive, blue wire to negative).
  • Temperature Chart Recorder (optional for EL-RG-23H): The recorder is pre-calibrated. If adjustment is needed, place a standard thermocouple and the recorder's sensor in a glycerin bottle in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, then compare readings and adjust using the panel buttons. Chart paper should be replaced as needed.
  • General Maintenance: Only professional personnel should perform maintenance and repairs. Disconnect the refrigerator from power before any maintenance. Avoid inhaling airborne particles during maintenance.
