Summary

Prepare vehicle, position drain pan, and loosen cover bolts to initiate oil drainage.

Ensure full gear oil drainage, remove final bolt, and detach original differential cover.

Clean differential housing sealing surface and inspect for imperfections.

Apply RTV silicone sealant evenly to the new differential cover's gasket surface.

Position new cover, install screws, and torque them in specified pattern.

Install M12x1.25 drain plug and 1" NPT Sight Glass plug (kit 46-70082).

Fill differential cover with new gear oil to specified level.

Apply Teflon pipe sealant to threads of two supplied 1/8" NPT plugs.

Install one 1/8" NPT plug into side of differential cover.

Apply Teflon pipe sealant to threads of 3/4" NPT magnetic plug for kit 46-70082.

Install remaining 1/8" NPT plug and appropriate 3/4" NPT plug on top.
