BEFoRE
CLEANING TRACK

Always
clean the track before
you
start
racing.
Use an
eraser to clean the l?ack Rails,
then wipe away residue
. with
a clean dry cloth.
.
Blow
out any deposits that may have fallen in
the
track
grooves.
.

You may
also use the special track
pad provided
or a
coin to clean the Track Rails.
Simply
lay
a coin flat
on
the Rails
and
polish
until shiny.
o
NEVER
use steel wool to clean
the
Track.
Here are
a few maintenance

2.WAY RACING PLUG ALLOWS
YOU TO
CHANGE
DIRECTION
OF
TRAVELI FLIP
THE PLUG
OVER TO
REVERSE
FACING DIFECTION.

On sets using Lapometers,
inserl
the
plug
with the
arrow
pointing
in
the same direction as the
arrows
on
the
Lapometer.
REMEMBER:
Always
disconnect
Power
Pack when not
in. use
Never
pull
on
wires. Always remove
connections
by
pulling
the Plug.

Assemble
the straight
or curved track on a flat,
clean
surface. Do not
assemble Track
on carpeting.

the
pieces
of Track together
until they
lock
in
place.

Operate

a Guardrail to each curve section by
placing
the
Guardrail Tabs under the Track, then snapping up into
place.

Getting Started: Track Assembly and Operation

Cleaning Track Rails

Use eraser, dry cloth, or coin to clean track rails. Avoid steel wool.

Track Layout and Assembly

Choose layout, assemble track on flat surface, push pieces to lock, disassemble by pulling apart.

Guardrail and Trestle Attachment

Attach guardrails to curves by snapping tabs. Snap trestles together and attach to track.

Connecting Power and Operation

Connect accelerators, power pack plug, and wall outlet. Place cars, ensure guide pin fits slot.

Car Acceleration and Speed Control

Squeeze trigger to accelerate. Decrease pressure to reduce speed. Releasing trigger stops the car.

Cleaning and General Maintenance

Track Cleaning

Use eraser, track pad, or coin on rails. Blow out grooves. Wipe with cloth.

Tire Cleaning

Place cellophane tape on table, roll tires across it to remove residue.

Wheel Adjustment

Pry wheels out with screwdriver if they bind against chassis. Ensure they don't rub body.

Track Connection Check

Ensure all track sections are properly connected for good conductivity.

Cleaning Pick-Up Shoes

Rub shoes with pencil eraser or track pad. Do not apply excessive pressure or use steel wool.

Chassis Realignment

Center chassis until it snaps back into position if body shifts and causes tire rub.

Performing a Tune-Up

Removing Car Body

Pull body away from chassis tabs to remove. Place paper under work area.

Replacing Pick-Up Shoes

Carefully pull old shoes forward, lift, and remove. Replace with new shoes.

Replacing Shoe Springs

Replace shoe springs after removing pick-up shoes. Ensure springs fit into holes.

Replacing Rear Axle Assembly

Snap rear wheel assembly in, slide tires onto wheels. Check wheel adjustment.

Replacing Pinion Gear

Remove old pinion gear by pushing rearward with screwdriver. Slide new gear onto motor.

Replacing Guide Pin

Push guide pin out of slot and replace with a new one. It snaps into place.

Replacing Car Body

Slide one end of chassis tab into body, then snap the other side into place.
