Synchro movement. To optimise this movement
towards its optimum comfort you can turn the knob
on the right hand side.

Function Description

The Ahrend Ease is an office chair designed for use in an office environment, particularly for tasks involving computer screens. By adjusting the chair to the user's dimensions, it provides good support for long periods of sitting in various working postures.

Usage Features

Seat Height Adjustment: To lower the seat:

  • Turn the lever on the right-hand side upwards.
  • Release the lever once the desired height is reached. To raise the seat:
  • Stand up.
  • Pull the lever upwards.
  • Release the lever once the desired height is reached.

Seat Depth Adjustment: To adjust the seat depth (shorter/longer):

  • Push the button on the right-hand side.
  • Slide the seat forward or backward.
  • Release the button once the desired position is reached.

Synchro Movement: The chair offers a synchro movement feature. To release synchro movement:

  • Turn the lever on the left-hand side forward.
  • Lean against the backrest to release it. The backrest includes kickback protection.

Synchro Movement Locking: To lock synchro movement (4 positions):

  • Turn the lever on the left-hand side forward.
  • Turn the lever rearwards to the desired position. To release synchro movement:
  • Turn the lever on the left-hand side forward.

Weight Setting Synchro: The chair features an Auto-Tensioning Synchro movement. To optimize this movement for comfort, adjust the knob on the right-hand side. To increase back pressure:

  • Turn the knob forward. To reduce back pressure:
  • Turn the knob backward.

Synchro Movement (Alternative Model): This synchro movement has 3 end-stop positions and one lock position in the neutral position. The lever on the right-hand side, pulled outward, results in the neutral position.

End-Stop Movement (Alternative Model): To place the backrest in one of its 3 end-stop positions:

  • Push the lever on the right-hand side inward.
  • Choose the desired position. To release end-stop movement:
  • Push the lever on the left-hand side outward.

Weight Setting Synchro (Alternative Model): This chair is provided with an Auto-Tensioning Synchro movement. To optimize this movement towards its optimum comfort, you can turn the knob on the front underneath the seat. Push it outwards. To increase back pressure:

  • Turn the lever to the left. To reduce back pressure:
  • Turn the lever to the right.

Armrest Adjustment: Higher/lower:

  • Hold the armrest.
  • Keep the button pressed.
  • Move the armrest up or down.
  • Release the button when the desired position is reached. Forwards/backwards:
  • The armrests can simply slide forward and backward by hand. The desired position is held in place by a locking mechanism. Turning and width adjustment:
  • The top pad of the armrests can be turned simply by hand. The required position is held in place with a locking mechanism.
  • Turning inwards/outwards: Some chair versions have rotating armpads. Turn the armpad 180° to achieve primary width adjustment. Total armrest wider/narrower:
  • Turn the lever underneath the seat downwards.
  • Adjust the armrests to the required position.
  • Turn the lever underneath the seat upwards.

Lumbar Support Adjustment: Height of lower back support (mesh backrest) - Up/down:

  • While seated, raise or lower the lumbar support by hand to the required height. Strength of lower back support (mesh backrest) - More/less:
  • While seated, turn the knobs on the lumbar support by hand to the required strength.

Castors / Glides: Hard rim castors:

  • For use on carpeted floors.
  • Recognised by one colour; wheel rim is also black. Soft rim castors:
  • For use on hard floors.
  • Recognised by two colours; grey tread. Hard glides:
  • For use on carpeted floors.
  • Recognised by plastic bottom. Glides with felt:
  • For use on hard floors.
  • Recognised by soft felt on the bottom. Instructions for changing castors can be requested from Ahrend.

Maintenance Features

Maintenance of Hard Parts:

  • Use a clean microfibre cloth (dry or damp) to clean the hard parts of the office chair.
  • Small quantities of cleaning agent are sufficient.

Cleaning Fabric Upholstery:

  • Daily cleaning of the upholstery by vacuuming.
  • Most stains can be removed with lukewarm water, possibly with a neutral detergent. For more tips on cleaning fabrics, refer to the Ahrend website.

Technical Maintenance:

  • Ahrend office chairs do not require additional technical maintenance during their lifespan.
  • Additional technical maintenance and repairs must only be carried out by qualified maintenance personnel.

Caution:

  • Replacement or repair of the gas lift cylinder for seat height adjustment must only be carried out by qualified maintenance personnel.
  • Never open or heat up the gas lift cylinder casing.
