The AICOOK Intelligent Tea Master (Model KT-Z1) is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for brewing various types of tea and coffee, as well as heating water to specific temperatures for other uses like baby formula. This "Tea Master" kettle combines advanced temperature control with user-friendly features to enhance the brewing experience.
The primary function of the Intelligent Tea Master is to heat water to precise temperatures and, in many modes, maintain that temperature for a set period. It features a stainless steel tea infuser, allowing users to brew loose leaf tea directly within the glass jug. The device offers multiple pre-set temperature programs tailored for different tea varieties (Black, Oolong, White, Green, Delicate), coffee, and general warming or baby formula preparation. A "Boil" mode is also available for rapid boiling to 212°F.
The kettle operates by placing the glass jug firmly on the power base. Users can then select their desired tea-making mode or temperature using a rotating knob and confirm their selection by pressing the START/CANCEL button. During heating, a heating icon is displayed on the LCD screen, along with the real-time temperature. Once the desired temperature is reached, the START/CANCEL button stops flashing, indicating that tea leaves or bags can be added to the infuser for brewing. The brewing time is dependent on the type of tea and personal preference.
A key feature is the "Automatic Keep Warm" mode, which is activated for 10 minutes after most pre-set temperature programs (excluding the "Boil" mode) are completed. This ensures that the water or brewed tea remains at the optimal temperature for an extended period, enhancing the user's experience, especially for those who brew tea or coffee.
The device also includes a "Custom Temp" setting, allowing users to manually adjust the temperature to their specific needs. This provides flexibility beyond the pre-set programs. Additionally, a "Mute Mode" is available, which can be activated or deactivated by pressing and holding the "CUSTOM TEMP" button for 3 seconds. In Mute mode, there are no beep sounds or key tones, offering a quieter operation.
Safety is a priority with features like automatic shut-off. The kettle will automatically turn off 5 minutes after the setting program is completed. If the kettle is removed from its base during an in-progress setting, the system will maintain that setting for 10 minutes. It also incorporates a dry-run safety feature, automatically turning off if there is no water inside the kettle during operation to prevent overheating of the heating plate. If overheating occurs, the user is instructed to fill it with cold water and wait 2 minutes before resuming use.
The Intelligent Tea Master is designed for ease of use. Before first use, it's recommended to perform a "Water Test" by filling the kettle to the maximum level with cold tap water, bringing it to a boil using the BOIL 212°F setting, and then discarding the water. This ensures the kettle is working properly and cleans it for initial use.
The kettle's operation involves a simple sequence: remove the tea infuser lid, fill with fresh water, place the kettle on the power base, select the desired mode using the knob, and press START/CANCEL. Once the target temperature is reached, tea leaves or bags can be added. The LCD screen provides clear feedback on the selected mode, temperature, and heating status.
The "Keep Warm" function can be manually set by pressing the KEEP WARM button and then rotating the PROGRAM knob to select one of eight different temperatures for the keep warm mode. This allows for customized temperature maintenance.
The device provides a "Tea Steeping Chart" and a "Variable Temperature Control Table" within the manual, offering guidance on suggested steeping temperatures and times for various tea and coffee types. This helps users optimize their brewing for the best flavor and aroma.
Regular cleaning is recommended after each use to ensure the longevity and performance of the kettle. The general cleaning process involves unplugging the power base, allowing the kettle to cool, pouring out any remaining water, and then washing the kettle with warm, soapy water. It should be thoroughly dried with a soft, clean towel.
For areas with hard water, descaling the kettle is an important maintenance task, especially if used frequently (at least once a week). Descaling removes mineral deposits that can build up inside the kettle. The descaling process involves filling the kettle with a mixture of distilled vinegar or lemon juice and water (1:2 ratio), boiling the mixture, letting it soak for 2 hours, pouring out the solution, and then wiping away limescale with a cloth or nonabrasive sponge. The kettle should then be rinsed with clean water and dried. This process can be repeated as needed.
The manual also provides troubleshooting tips for common issues, such as the kettle not switching on, not working, or the LCD light going out, guiding users through basic checks like power plug insertion, circuit breaker resets, and proper positioning on the power base.
