Overview

This document describes the aiTIGHT 120V Compact Tire Inflator, Model No. 60398, a device engineered for dependability, ease of operation, and operator safety. It is designed to provide years of trouble-free performance when properly cared for.

Function Description:

The aiTIGHT 120V Compact Tire Inflator is primarily used for inflating various objects. Its main function is to inflate car tires, bike tires, ATV tires, sports equipment, air mattresses, beach toys, and other inflatables. The device is equipped with both inflation and deflation capabilities, allowing for versatile use. It operates by connecting to a standard 120V power source and utilizing an air compressor to deliver pressurized air. The inflator features a built-in pressure gauge for estimated readings during inflation, though a digital pressure gauge is recommended for more accurate measurements.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Input: 120V
  • Air Hose Length: 27 inches
  • Power Cord Length: 6 feet
  • Pressure Gauge: Dial type
  • Cooling System: Cooling Fan
  • Fuse: 2-amp fuse (for replacement, always use the same size)
  • Included Accessories: Sports Ball Needle, 6 Raft, Mattress & Toy Inflator Nozzles.

Usage Features:

The inflator is designed for straightforward operation with several user-friendly features:

  • On/Off Switch: A simple switch controls the power to the air compressor.
  • Nozzle Attachment: Selected nozzles attach to the inflation adaptor. For inflation, the nozzle connects to the inflation air outlet; for deflation, it connects to the deflation air outlet.
  • Air Hose Adaptor: The air hose adaptor securely locks onto the inflation adaptor using a locking lever.
  • Inflation Process (Tires):
    1. Ensure the power switch is in the "O" (OFF) position.
    2. Remove the valve cap from the tire stem.
    3. Attach the universal adapter to the valve stem, ensuring it's firmly in place and locked with the lever.
    4. Plug the power cord into a 120V power outlet.
    5. Turn the power switch to "I" (ON) and inflate to the manufacturer's recommended pressure.
    6. Once the desired pressure is reached, turn the power switch to "O" (OFF).
    7. Unplug the power cord and remove the connector from the tire valve.
    • Note for Truck/Trailer Tires (over 50 psi): It is recommended to manually deflate the tire to 40 psi or less before beginning inflation. This helps the inflator gradually reach the desired pressure and prevents the pump from stalling.
  • Inflation Process (Inflatables):
    1. Ensure the power switch is in the "O" (OFF) position.
    2. Snap the appropriate inflation accessory into the universal adapter and lock it in place.
    3. Plug the power cord into a 120V power outlet.
    4. Insert the inflation accessory into the inflatable object.
    5. Turn the power switch to "I" (ON) and inflate to the manufacturer's recommended pressure.
    6. When the object is firm, turn the power switch to "O" (OFF). Avoid over-inflating objects.
    7. Unplug the power cord.
  • Deflation Process: Attach the nozzle to the deflation air outlet to deflate the object. Ensure the cap on the deflation air outlet is closed during inflation.
  • Power Source Connection: The tool requires a properly grounded 3-prong receptacle. It is equipped with a 3-prong plug and an equipment grounding conductor to protect against electric shock. Users should not modify the plug and should have a professional electrician install the proper outlet if needed.
  • Extension Cords: If an extension cord is used, it must be a 3-wire cord with a 3-blade grounding plug and a 3-slot receptacle. The cord must be in good condition and heavy enough to carry the current. Recommended extension cord gauges are provided based on length: 18 gauge for 25-50 ft, 16 gauge for 100 ft, and 14 gauge for 150 ft.

Maintenance Features:

Proper care and maintenance are crucial for the longevity of the inflator:

  • Fuse Replacement:
    1. Ensure the inflator is turned off and nothing is connected.
    2. Unscrew the top of the fuse holder.
    3. Replace the fuse with a new 2-amp fuse. Always use the same size fuse.
    4. Screw the top of the fuse holder back onto the unit.
  • Cleaning: Keep the inflator dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Use a clean cloth for cleaning. Never use brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or strong solvents.
  • Cooling Down: Do not run the compressor for more than 10 minutes continuously. Allow the compressor to cool for at least 10 minutes after each 10 minutes of continuous use. If the unit feels hot or runs slowly, shut it off and allow it to cool for 20-25 minutes.
  • Storage: Do not operate or store the inflator in damp or wet locations.

Safety Information (Important Warnings and Cautions):

  • Read and understand all instructions before use to prevent personal injury or property damage.
  • Keep out of reach of children; the inflator is not a toy.
  • Never use in traffic or other unsafe areas.
  • Never leave the inflator running unattended.
  • Do not carry the inflator by the air hose or power cord.
  • Disconnect power when not in use.
  • Do not operate near flammable liquids or in gaseous/explosive atmospheres.
  • Do not use for purposes other than inflating specified objects.
  • Never exceed the manufacturer's recommended pressure for any inflatable object; avoid over-inflation.
  • Caution: HOT - Do not hold the inflator in hand while operating; place it on the ground.
  • Operate only with the included attachments.
  • Use safety glasses; use a face or dust mask if operation is dusty.
  • This inflator is not designed to fill air tanks or air shocks.
  • In case of malfunction, check the power cord connection and the fuse. If the fuse is blown, replace it with the correct size.
