This document provides the original instructions for the ALDI littleTOWN GARDEN FAIR NEST SWING, a recreational outdoor swing designed for domestic use.
Function Description:
The nest swing is an activity toy intended for children aged 3 and over, with a maximum load capacity of 150 kg. It is designed for outdoor use and allows a single person to swing at a time. The swing's design emphasizes safety and durability, with specific instructions for assembly, installation, and ongoing maintenance to ensure safe operation. The swing's height can be adjusted to suit the user, and it is designed to be suspended from a suitable mounting bracket or swing hook.

Usage Features:
The nest swing consists of a sitting surface, four frame tubes with padding, and two ropes with plastic supports.
- Assembly: The assembly process involves laying the seat surface on the floor, opening Velcro straps, pushing the padded frame tubes into pockets, ensuring correct tube connections (thicker end with a hole follows a pipe end with a spring button), placing the ropes correctly without twisting, sliding plastic suspensions through tab openings, attaching suspensions to the thicker tube, connecting tubes by pressing spring pressure buttons until they latch and click, and finally closing the Velcro straps.
- Disassembly: To disassemble, open the Velcro strap, push the padding aside, release the spring pressure button, and pull the frame tubes apart.
- Height Adjustment: The height of the nest swing can be adjusted using openings in the adjustment element on the ropes. It is crucial that no one is sitting on the swing during adjustment and that both ropes are always adjusted to the same length.
- Safety Guidelines:
- Supervision by adults is required.
- Children must wear appropriate clothing (no ponchos, scarves, or loose hanging garments).
- Swinging is only allowed when the person sits in the middle of the seat.
- Avoid swinging with an empty seat, as this can pose a risk of strangulation.
- Do not walk towards, behind, or between swings in use.
- Do not turn ropes or hang them over tubes, as this impairs strength.
- Do not jump off the swing while swinging.
- Do not climb on a wet swing.
- Do not attach additional elements to the swing.
- The swing should not be built over concrete, asphalt, or other hard surfaces to prevent serious injuries from falls.
- The swing must be completely installed before use.
- Only original parts from Flexxtrade GmbH & Co. KG should be used for replacement or modifications, and any changes must be approved by the manufacturer.
- Mounting Options:
- Version 1: A fully closed support eyelet, where the swing rings are fastened with a snap hook. The eyelet of the support must be placed transversely to the swinging direction to prevent excess wear.
- Version 2: A swing hook, where the rings of the nest swing are hung directly into the support.
- The suspension points must be spaced at least a swing seat width (+10 cm) apart.
- The nest swing must only be mounted on a suitable mounting bracket, with consultation from experts if necessary.
Maintenance Features:
Regular maintenance is crucial for the safety and longevity of the nest swing.
- Pre-use Check: Before each use, and at least once a month, a supervisor must perform the following checks:
- Inspect tubes, swing seats, chains, ropes, and other accessories for signs of wear and tear. Defective parts must be replaced according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Check all protective devices for completeness and damage.
- Check all moving parts and replace them if necessary.
- Check metal parts for rust and apply lead-free paint (according to EN 71 requirements) if needed.
- If the swing is part of a multi-swing frame, all parts must be checked.
- If hung on a branch, check the branch's load-bearing characteristics.
- Check the substrate to ensure it provides cushioning in case of a fall.
- Inspect ropes regularly for damage or signs of age-related wear and tear, replacing damaged ropes immediately to guarantee full safety.
- Seasonal Storage: At the end of the gardening season, or when temperatures drop below 4 °C, the swing should be removed and stored in a dry, frost-free place.
- Spare Parts: Only original spare parts from Flexxtrade GmbH & Co. KG should be used, as other ropes, tubes, and seating surfaces may not fit and could pose safety hazards.
Disposal:
- Packaging: Packaging materials (cardboard, paper, foils) should be disposed of separately in the appropriate recycling collections.
