Function
The heat exchanger consists of a p ack o f corrugated metal plates with por tholes for the input
and output of t he two separate fluids. The heat transf er betw een the two fluids takes place
through the plates.
The plate pack is assembled between a frame plate and a pressure plate and compressed by
tightening bolts. The plates are fitted with a ga sket which sea ls the channel and directs the
fluids into alternate channels. The plate c orrugation prom otes fluid turbulence and supports th e
plates against differential pressure.
