This supplement describes the main characteristics of the Alfa TCT 6-speed twin dry clutch automatic transmission fitted on the car. To use the gearbox correctly, this supplement must be read completely to understand the correct, permitted operations from the outset. For all other information, comply with the instructions in the Owner Handbook.
The Alfa TCT 6-speed automatic transmission is an electronically managed system where gear shifting occurs automatically based on instantaneous car usage parameters, including car speed, road gradient, and accelerator pedal position. This innovative transmission integrates with the Start&Stop system, offering a modern alternative to traditional automatic transmissions with built-in torque converters. Additionally, it provides the option for manual gear changes using the gear lever in sequential mode.
The transmission offers several driving modes:
Selector Lever Positions:
Starting the Engine: The car is equipped with an electronic engine lock device. Starting is only permitted with the gear lever in position P or N (with or without the brake pedal pressed).
Start&Stop System: When the car is stationary and the Start&Stop system is activated, the engine stops if the gear lever is in any position other than R. The engine restarts automatically if the brake pedal is released (and the lever is not in N or P), the lever is shifted to an unstable position (+, -, or R), the lever is moved from D to sequential mode, or by using the steering wheel levers (if equipped).
Moving the Car: To move the car from P, press the brake pedal, use the button on the gear lever, and move the lever to the desired position (D, R, or sequential). The car will start moving (creeping effect) as soon as the brake pedal is released, without needing to press the accelerator pedal.
Gear Change via Steering Wheel Levers (if equipped): On some versions, gear changes can be made using controls on the steering wheel. Pulling the '+' lever towards the driver engages a higher gear, while pulling the '-' lever engages a lower gear. These controls can be used when the gear lever is in sequential or D position. Incorrect use (pushing levers towards the dashboard) could damage them.
Acoustic Signal: An acoustic signal is heard for safety reasons in several situations, such as when the driver's side door is opened with the engine running and the gear lever is not in P, or if the engine is switched off with the gear lever not in P. It also sounds if the accelerator/brake pedals are not pressed for at least 3 minutes with creeping deactivated, if the brake pedal is pressed for over 10 minutes, or if a fault is detected in the gearbox.

Replacing Fuses: Automatic transmission components are protected by specific fuses. Contact Alfa Romeo Authorized Services for replacement. For other fuses, refer to the Owner Handbook.
Servicing and Care: The Scheduled Servicing Plan includes checking and, if necessary, topping up the electro-hydraulic actuator oil level every 120,000 km.
Checking Levels - Alfa TCT Activation System Oil: To check the transmission control oil level, contact exclusively Alfa Romeo Authorized Services. Used transmission fluid contains substances harmful to the environment. It is advised to contact Alfa Romeo Authorized Services to change the oil, as they are equipped to dispose of used oil in accordance with legislation and without harming the environment.
Fluids and Lubricants:
In case of emergency, if lubricants with the prescribed specifications are not available, products with the minimum indicated ACEA performance can be used for topping up; however, optimal engine performance is not guaranteed. For MultiAir system engines, only use lubricants with the indicated SAE grade and specifications. The use of products with different specifications could cause damage to the engine not covered by the warranty.
