Overview

The All-Clad Gourmet 7Qt Plus Multi-cooker, model SD800D51, is a versatile kitchen appliance designed for various cooking functions, including slow cooking, rice cooking, steaming, searing, simmering, reheating, and buffet/warm keeping. It features an all-in-one browning function.

Function Description:

The multi-cooker is equipped with a control panel and a function display that allows users to select and adjust various settings.

  • Function Display:
    • - button: Decreases the displayed value (time/temperature) and changes the mode for the slow cooking function.
    • + button: Increases the displayed value (time/temperature) and changes the mode for the slow cooking function.
    • SET button: Provides access to settings.
    • START/STOP button: Starts or stops the cooking process.
    • REHEAT button: Activates the reheat function.
    • BUFFET/WARM button: Activates the Buffet or Warm function. Buffet can be used for up to 2 hours (adjustable in 10-minute increments), while Keep Warm can be used for up to 6 hours, depending on the selected cooking function.
    • Rotary Switch: Used to select functions such as Slow Cook, Rice, Steam, Sear, and Simmer.

Usage Features:

  1. Before First Use:

    • Remove all packaging, stickers, and accessories.
    • Wipe the metal housing with a clean, damp cloth.
    • Wash the insert and glass lid in hot soapy water, then rinse and dry.
    • Plug in the multi-cooker.
    • Never immerse the electric base in water.
    • Do not leave uncooked food at room temperature in the multi-cooker.
    • Do not put the removable insert in the fridge.
  2. General Usage:

    • The product housing can become very hot; use oven mitts.
    • Ensure air vents are not blocked.
    • Use on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.
    • Initial use may produce slight smoke/odor, which is normal.
    • Never heat the insert when empty or preheat the base.
    • Do not immerse/wash the hot glass lid.
    • Not for deep frying.
    • Be cautious of oil splatter when adding food to hot oil.
  3. Cooking Functions:

    • Slow Cooking:

      • Turn the rotary switch to select SLOW COOK.
      • Press + or - to choose between LO, HI/LO, or HI modes.
      • Press SET to confirm the mode.
      • Enter cooking time using + or -.
      • Press START/STOP to begin.
      • For HI/LO mode, set HI cooking time, then LO cooking time.
      • Automatically shifts to KEEP WARM ("WM" displayed) for up to 6 hours after cooking.
    • Rice Cooking:

      • Use graduated markings inside the insert for water measurement.
      • The provided plastic cup measures rice (1 cup ≈ 5 oz).
      • Maximum rice + water should not exceed the 10-cup mark.
      • Rinse rice thoroughly before cooking.
      • Add rice first, then water to the corresponding CUP mark.
      • Close the lid.
      • Turn the rotary switch to RICE.
      • Press START/STOP to begin.
      • Displays "RICE" and a progression bar during cooking.
      • Automatically shifts to KEEP WARM ("WM" displayed) for up to 6 hours after cooking.
      • Recommended to use ordinary rice for best results. For 1-2 cups of white rice, use 1.5 cups of water per cup of rice.
      • Do not open the lid during cooking.
    • Steaming (Vegetables, Fish, Fruit):

      • Do not use the steam basket for other functions or without water.
      • Fill water up to the STEAM mark in the bowl.
      • Add ingredients to the steam basket and place it in the bowl.
      • Close the lid.
      • Turn the rotary switch to STEAM.
      • Enter cooking time using + or -.
      • Press START/STOP to begin.
      • Automatically shifts to KEEP WARM ("WM" displayed) for up to 60 minutes after cooking.
    • Sear:

      • Turn the rotary switch to SEAR.
      • Set temperature (max 450°F) using + or -.
      • Press SET, then adjust time using + or -.
      • Press START/STOP to begin preheating ("PREHEATING" flashes).
      • A beep sounds when the selected temperature is reached; add ingredients.
      • Press START/STOP to stop cooking or switch functions.
      • If no time is set, the product stops automatically after 60 minutes.
    • Simmer:

      • Turn the rotary switch to SIMMER.
      • Enter cooking time using + or -.
      • Press START/STOP to begin.
      • Automatically shifts to KEEP WARM ("WM" displayed) for up to 6 hours after cooking.
    • Reheat:

      • Press REHEAT.
      • Enter cooking time using + or -.
      • Press START/STOP to begin.
      • The reheat light illuminates.
      • Automatically shifts to KEEP WARM ("WM" displayed) for up to 6 hours after cooking.
    • Buffet/Warm:

      • From standby or connected, press BUFFET/WARM to activate buffet cooking.
      • Enter cooking time using + or -.
      • Press START/STOP to begin ("BF" displayed).
      • Can switch to KEEP WARM ("WM" displayed) at any time during cooking by pressing BUFFET/WARM.
      • KEEP WARM can be used for up to 6 hours.
  4. Cooking Tips:

    • When in KEEP WARM mode after SLOW COOK, STEAM, or SIMMER, a long press of + can switch back to the previous cooking cycle.

Maintenance Features:

  1. Cleaning the Multi-Cooker:

    • Ensure the multi-cooker is unplugged and cooled down before cleaning.
    • Never submerge the heating unit in water or any other liquid.
    • Do not use scouring pads or hard abrasive powder.
  2. Cleaning the Metal Housing:

    • Clean the outside shell with a soft cloth and warm soapy water, then wipe dry.
    • Abrasive cleaners are not recommended as they may damage the housing.
  3. Cleaning the Insert, Glass Lid, and Steam Basket:

    • The glass lid and steam basket are dishwasher safe or can be washed in hot, soapy water.
    • The removable insert is not dishwasher safe; wash in hot, soapy water.
    • Do not use abrasive cleaning compounds.
    • Most residue can be removed with a cloth, sponge, or rubber spatula. For water spots/stains, use a non-abrasive cleaner.
  4. Aluminum Insert:

    • Discoloration from extensive use is normal and does not affect performance.
    • The insert coating complies with food contact material legislation.

Troubleshooting:

  • Multi-cooker not working: Check if plugged in correctly. Unplug and replug if necessary. Check power socket.
  • Appliance switches off: The product may have switched to standby mode. Press the power button once. If not, unplug for 2 minutes and replug.
  • Cooking program cannot be changed after unplugging due to setting mistake: Unplug for at least 2 minutes to reset the cooking setting saved in memory.
  • Display issue (condensation): Let the product dry overnight. If the problem persists, contact an approved Service Center.
  • Foods cook slowly: Lid may be missing or badly positioned, or food parts are too big. Reposition the lid correctly and increase cooking time.
  • Function panel displays F2: Temperature sensor is damaged. Contact an approved Service Center.
  • Function panel displays F1: The insert is missing. Place the insert inside, then unplug and replug the appliance, and restart the program. If F1 persists, contact an approved Service Center.

Manufacturer's Limited Warranty:

  • Warranty Period: 2 years from the initial purchase date against manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship.
  • Coverage: Covers costs to restore the defective product to original specifications through repair or replacement of defective parts and labor. All-Clad may offer a replacement product.
  • Conditions: Valid only in the United States and Canada with proof of purchase.
  • Exclusions: Does not cover damage from misuse, negligence, failure to follow instructions, use with incorrect voltage, unauthorized repair, normal wear and tear, or replacement of consumable parts. Specific exclusions include using the wrong type of water/consumable, scaling, and ingress of water, dust, or insects (unless designed for it).
  • International Use: Warranty may not apply if used in a country with different local standards or if the product is not sold locally. Repair process may take longer. If not repairable, a similar or alternative product of similar value may be offered.
  • Consumer Statutory Rights: The warranty does not affect legal rights consumers may have.
